1. Does God Really Exist?

There is a God. Creation is evidence there is a Creator. The Creator of heaven and earth has revealed Himself to the world as the all-powerful, Sovereign King and Creator who exists from eternity. He rules and reigns over all people and all things. He is perfectly good, perfectly righteous and perfectly just. God is holy and this means there is no one like Him. He is righteous and always does what is right. He is pure and there is no flaw in Him. He knows all things and perfectly applies wisdom and justice.

God created the heavens and earth and all living things for His own glory to show His infinite value and worth … to show that He is God. Psalm 145:3, 8-9 says, “Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.” For all these reasons and more, God alone is worthy of worship.

2. Why Am I Here?

You are a human being created by God, created in the image of God—having the ability to think, feel, reason and create. The first two people God created, He made good as God is good. God made human beings to be the caretakers of this earth. God also created human beings to exist in a harmonious relationship with Himself and with other human beings. Human beings were created by God for His purposes alone: to worship Him, reflect Him and to be in relationship with Him and to carry out the work He gave us to care for the earth and other human beings.

Genesis 1:27-28, reads, “So God created mankind in his own image…male and female. God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’” God is love and has richly provided everything human beings could ever need. You were created by God to live in complete trust and wholehearted obedience to Him.

3. What’s Wrong With The World?

While originally created good, ultimately human beings are no longer good and no longer bring God glory. Instead we each bring shame to His holy name because we are not fulfilling the purpose for which God created us. We have each sinned against God by not obeying His Commandments: 1) Worship the One true God alone; 2) Do not make anything more important than God; 3) Do not use God’s name as a cuss word; 4) Keep the Sabbath (a day of rest and worship); 5) Honor your mother and father; 6) Do not murder or harbor anger; 7) Save sex for marriage (and don’t lust after others) 8) Don’t steal; 9) Don’t lie and 10) Don’t desire what other people have. 

We have each rejected God’s perfect way of living and have each made up our own rules for living. Our sins are the reason the world is filled with hatred, war, violence, racism, theft, infidelity, broken families, sickness, disease, depression, and death. Our world is under the curse of sin and death because we have rebelled against our Creator and God.

4. What Happens When I Die?

God did not originally intend for human beings to die. In fact, the Bible tells us in Ezekiel 18:32 that God takes no pleasure in anyone’s death. But, death is the natural result we have earned for our sins against a holy God. And after we die, God will judge us for our sins. Deep down all people know that we stand guilty before God and that we must face Him one day, and we each fear death as a result.

People respond to the fear of death in different ways. Some people try to hide from God by pretending He doesn’t exist. Some immerse themselves in their sin and avoid thinking about the future. Others numb their conscience with drugs or alcohol. Some focus on doing good things hoping the good outweighs the bad. 

But, God cannot simply overlook our sin. He is perfectly righteous and just, so He must act according to His justice. As the perfect judge, God must deal with our sins and that means He will punish the guilty in a place called hell.

5. Is There Any Hope?

Yes! God is rich in love and mercy! Even though human beings have rejected God and sinned greatly against Him, God loves us! He has dealt with our sins through Jesus Christ. Jesus, the Son of God, lived as a human being in every way except He did not sin. He obeyed God perfectly and became the substitute for us through His sinless life and sacrificial death on the cross. Jesus suffered and died, taking our sins on Himself on the cross. He was buried, and three days later rose from the dead. Jesus was perfectly righteous, but God treated Him as if He was guilty like us. God will accept Jesus’ death as payment for the sins of all who trust Him.

Jesus lives and now rules and reigns from heaven with His Father and gives forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who trust in Him. Eternal life begins the moment you place your faith in Jesus. God will give you a new heart and teach you how to love Him and obey His Word. Once you trust Jesus, you will become part of God’s family with other believers. You will never again have to fear death.

6. What Do I Do Now?

At this very moment, God is offering you forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

You have two choices:

1. You can change your mind about how you are living and agree with God that you are not a good person, and then place your trust in the Son of God, who is truly good. Jesus lived a perfect life and died in your place and rose from the dead to rescue you from the judgment your sins deserve. As soon as you transfer your faith from yourself to Jesus, God will forgive all of your sins, AND will consider you perfectly righteous before Him—not because of anything you have done, but only because of what Jesus has done for you. Your new life with God begins the moment you trust His Son. John 17:1-3

2. Or you can reject God’s gracious gift of salvation and go back to the rebellious life you were living and face God’s judgment when you die. 

The choice is yours. What will you do?

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly … God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
