Hi! I am a 1968 Pontiac Firebird Sprint Convertible, a six cylinder with an overhead cam, four barrel carb, and a five stick on the floor. I love going to Cruise In’s and try to get to one each week. I have a nice garage that keeps me out of the weather.
My owner, Ron, would like to share something with you concerning the Bible, God’s love letter to us, which is so important and up to date and true. I would like you to take a minute and read the following verse:
“It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
This verse talks about two appointments which we all must keep.
#1: Death. I think we would all agree that we all face death—young or old—but we never know when.
“By one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12).
#2: Judgment. After dying, we will all stand before God to be judged Saved or Unsaved.
“I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works” (Revelation 20:12).
Life is like hitting a home run—
you must tag all the bases to score.
First Base: We must all admit that we are sinners. This may be hard to do, but it is essential.
“All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Second Base: We must believe the Bible. The word “believe” is mentioned 286 times in the Bible.
“He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life” (John 5:24).
Third Base: Here we find the Gospel, the good news of how Jesus Christ paid for our sins when He died, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day.
“I declare unto you the gospel … how that Christ
died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
Home Plate: We must surrender to Him, realizing that we cannot work our way into Heaven, and put our trust in Jesus alone. Turn to God, and receive the gift of His salvation today!
“Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation”
(2 Corinthians 7:10).
“By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Oh, I wish I could make this decision for you, but I can’t There’s an empty space inside us that only God can fill. Think on this. Eternity is a long time.
