This is a story about two hotels. These two hotels are the only accommodations in town, and are located on opposite sides of the same street. Both hotels have identical initials (HHR), but their names and the levels of service they provide are very different.

One of the hotels is very beautiful, with spacious rooms and excellent amenities. It is very well run, and you must have made the proper reservation to be allowed to stay. The other hotel is in disrepair, with small, dark rooms and no comforts. Reservations at this hotel are not required; it accepts anyone who shows up at its door.

If you arrive at the beautiful hotel—Heaven Hotels and Residence (HHR)—without a proper reservation, you will be turned away. Your title, your job, your family name, the people you know, how rich you are, and the clubs/organizations/societies to which you belong cannot get you in the door. There may be rooms available, but the hotel is so well organized that they will not allow you to check into a room which is reserved for someone else.

Your only option will be to check into the other hotel—Hell Hotels and Residence (HHR)—on the other side of the street. At this other hotel, there are no bouncers at the door. Everyone who arrives there is allowed to stay. No one is ever turned away. The workers there will quickly grab you, shove you into one of the available spaces, and lock the door.

At the first hotel (Heaven) the bouncers at the gate make sure that you are an expected guest. If your name is on the reservation list, you are guaranteed that your accommodation will be ready. Your reservation also guarantees you clothes and shoes, and a place at the table during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Your name being on the list means that everything you will ever need has already been provided in excess.

God forbid that you find yourself in the other hotel (Hell). There is no warm welcome at this place. You will be dragged and shoved into whatever space may be available. It is very dark inside and out, and is full of nothing but pain, anguish, and regrets. There is yelling and commotion at every turn. It is a very hot place with no air conditioners, and fans are not even allowed. The hosts will not answer your request for water or any other kind of relief.

The REAL TRUTH about these two hotels I have described is that once you check in, you cannot check out. Both of them are places of ETERNAL RESIDENCE.

I believe no one wants to go to a place where you will be treated so badly for eternity. Everyone should want to live forever in the beautiful, happy place. Therefore today is the day to make sure your reservation is in order.

When reserving our heavenly home, our nationality, race, education, and social position are unimportant. Monetary value does not determine our qualification, either. Our status here on earth does not determine our qualification. Whether a person has Christ is all that matters, and He is equally available to all.

It all starts with accepting Jesus as your Lord and your savior. He is the way, the truth, and the life. There is no other way that you can ever get to heaven except through Jesus Christ. No other religion can get you in. Living a good life cannot get you in.

Tomorrow is not the time to change. It is today, for tomorrow may be too late. Once you are bounced from entering into heaven, the only other option is hell. There are no more chances. “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). We will not have a chance to come back and redo things.

God has given us simple instructions on how to make sure we are ready for Heaven: “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19). “And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 3:23).

The last chapter in the Bible describes our two “hotels” and who will live in them: “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie” (Revelation 22:14,15),

If you have made up your mind to accept Jesus as your Lord and personal savior, today is the day to put your trust in Him.

“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
