“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

“And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger…. Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’” (Luke 2:7-11)

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:17)

Jesus has issued an invitation to each of us—an invitation to become part of His family and spend eternity with Him. Because we are sinners by birth, we cannot enter heaven without receiving the gift of forgiveness and eternal life offered by Jesus through His shed blood, death, and resurrection.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

“The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” (John 6:37)

Jesus’ invitation does not give a date for your decision to be made; however, once you die, the window of opportunity to respond is closed. In 2 Corinthians 6:2, God requests your response today: “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
