God and Santa. Both capture our attention during the holidays. Yet there are differences.

People have to mail their requests to Santa.

Hey, Mom! What’s Santa’s zip code?

All God needs is for us to pray to Him.

Hello, God, It’s me again ...

Santa comes only once a year.

I can’t wait! I can’t wait!

God is with us every day.

Is God awesome or what?

We tell Santa what things we want.

... And a scooter, and a Mr. Turnip-head, and ...

Same with God, except He often showers us with blessings we don’t expect.

I don’t understand it. There’s not a bit of cancer anywhere in your system.

Santa travels the world in a sleigh pulled by a bunch of flying reindeer.

Come on, Rudolph. We’ve got 347,268 more stops.

God doesn’t have to fly He’s already everywhere.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. Psalm 139:7-8

Santa doesn’t come unless you’re sleeping.

God’s on duty twenty- four hours a day, Seven days a week.

Santa determines your gift on whether you’ve been naughty or nice.

We’ve gotten in a fresh shipment of coal, Santa.

Good, there’s some especially naughty ones this year.

God knows that we are all “naughty” ...

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

- Gulp! - Including Me?

... But He still offers us His best gift.

But I can still get a gift?

That’s right. God sent His Son, Jesus, as a baby born in a manger, to give us the gift of forgiveness and eternal life.

I [Jesus] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Eternal life?

Jesus lived a sinless life, but died on the cross to pay for our sins, and then He rose from the grave to give us eternal life.

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit. 1 Peter 3:18

Wow! How do I get this gift?

To enjoy life with God for all eternity, turn to God and place your trust in Jesus to save you.

Dear God, thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die for my sins. I now place my trust in Him for all eternity. Amen.

Santa’s okay, but if you want a true Christmas blessing, turn to God. He gave us more than Santa ever could ... the true reason for the season.
