If you think you are "good enough" to meet God ... There is bad news for you

According to the Bible, none of us are "good enough" to enter Heaven. We've all fallen short of God's standard of perfection and are separated from God by our sin.

We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses [good deeds] are as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6

There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Romans 3:10–11

All things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. Hebrews 4:13

God requireth that which is past. Ecclesiastes 3:15

By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His [God’s] sight. Romans 3:20

God … now commandeth all men every where to repent. Acts 17:30

Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

Whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15

Once you realize you are not "good enough" ... There is Good news for you

God desires to have a relationship with you. In fact, He loves you so much that He has made the way for your sins to be completely forgiven. This is the best news!

Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. 1 Timothy 1:15

God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8–9

Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1

Rejoice, because your names are written in Heaven. Luke 10:20

Are you trying to be “good enough” to earn Heaven when you die? If so, we must tell you plainly that the Bible has nothing but bad news for you. Heaven cannot be gained through our “good deeds” or merit. If you’re trying to live up to God’s standard, maybe it’s time to check God’s word! The simple truth is that “all have sinned” and are under God's condemnation (Romans 3:23; John 3:18).

But once you know that you are guilty before God and lost and without a doubt going to Hell—then the Bible surely holds good news for you! Jesus died for you on Calvary’s cross and rose again to offer you a pardon for all your sins. His love reaches you just as you are. If you turn to Him in faith, you will know the forgiveness of your sins and have the assurance of eternal life. Read the verses inside this paper again and talk to God today.

MALAS NOTICIAS PARA PERSONAS BUENAS

Cristo dijo: “No he venido para llamar a los justos, sino los pecadores al arrepentimiento” (Marcos 2:17).

Puede sorprenderte saber que la Biblia contiene muchas malas noticias para las personas que se consideran buenas. Los siguientes versículos son ejemplos de esto:

BUENAS NOTICIAS PARA PERSONAS MALAS

“Cristo...a su tiempo murió por los impíos” (Romanos 5:6).

De la misma manera, puede sorprenderte saber que otros textos en las Escrituras dan muchas buenas noticias para personas malas. He aquí algunos:

Cristo Jesús vino al mundo para salvar a los pecadores. 1 Timoteo 1:15

Dios muestra su amor para con nosotros, en que siendo aún pecadores, Cristo murió por nosotros. Romanos 5:8

Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que
ha dado a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel

Justificados, pues, por la fe, tenemos paz para con Dios por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Romanos 5:1

Quizás eres una persona que intenta ser buena para merecer el cielo cuando mueras. Intentas “hacer bien sin mirar a quién” o vivir por “la regla de oro”. Todo eso está bien en su contexto, pero hemos de decirte claramente que la Biblia sólo tiene malas noticias para ti. Nadie se gana el cielo por ser bueno. “Todos pecaron” dice Dios (Romanos 3:23), están condenados, y necesitan a Alguien para salvarles y justificarles. Los pecadores son incapaces de salvarse, e incluso de colaborar en su salvación.

En cambio, si sabes que eres culpable ante Dios, que estás perdido y que vas sin duda rumbo al infierno, entonces la Biblia tiene buenas noticias para ti. Jesucristo murió por ti en la cruz del Calvario, para que puedas ser salvo, y Él te ofrece el perdón de todos tus pecados. Si deseas este perdón y la vida eterna, deposita tu fe en Él. Puedes tener certidumbre ahora del perdón de pecados y la vida eterna.

Cristo dijo: “Él que viene a mí, no le echaré fuera” (Juan 6:37).
