Gospel tracts from Moments With The Book are a critical element in the evangelistic efforts of Friends of Jesus Campus Ministries at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.
“On a busy college campus, we only have a few moments of a student’s attention,” said Bethany Frye, executive director of the ministry. “Our strategy is to include a MWTB ‘60-Second Gospel’ tract tucked inside every single Scripture portion (Gospel of John) we hand out.”
Frye said ministry volunteers aim to conduct a “peaceful, loving Gospel outreach” to students and faculty, “offering a friendly presence and a listening ear.”
When students stop at the ministry table, Frye said volunteers thank them for stopping, tell them they love them, and ask to pray for them. When time allows, they ask them questions and get to know more about them. They also tell them what they will discover in the literature presented to them.
In the book of John, Frye tells them, “You will learn about Jesus’ life, His ministry, all the miracles He performed, and what He did for mankind to save us from our sins.” She then tells them that she also included a pamphlet that will explain how they can have their sins forgiven and receive God’s free gift of eternal life.
Frye never encountered a student who refused the tracts.
“Most students are in a rush, but the design and clarity of the MWTB tracts make them very easy for students to accept and keep for later,” she said.
For believers desiring to more faithfully share the Gospel, but may be a little hesitant, Frye encourages investing in quality tracts, praying in advance for the people you will encounter, “and be joyful in presenting the Gospel.”
With the leading of the Holy Spirit and a MWTB tract in your hand, she said, “You already have everything you need to start a life-changing conversation.”
Frye said she is grateful for the resources that Moments With The Book provides. The tracts, she said, are a “silent witness” that clearly explains how they can respond to the Gospel.
“It ensures that when a student is back in their dorm later, they have a clear explanation of the gift of eternal life, right there in their hands,” she said.
Friends of Jesus Campus Ministries has the following prayer requests for their outreaches:
🟡 Hearts would be softened and prepared to receive the Gospel.
🟡 Their team would be filled with boldness, wisdom, and the peace of Christ as they engage with students.
🟡 The seeds planted through the Scripture portions and MWTB tracts would take deep root and lead to a profession of faith and a deep personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.
