Acts is probably the most colorful and descriptive book in the Bible when it comes to “seeing” evangelism in action. Sharing the Gospel is not just an idea or concept in Acts – it’s a movement that results in tremendous growth (and persecution). There are several prescriptive examples for evangelism in the book of Acts that we can follow as we, too, seek to obey the Great Commission: 1. Rely on the Holy Spirit. Gospel tracts from Moments With The Book are a critical element in the evangelistic efforts of Friends of Jesus Campus Ministries at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. “On a busy college campus, we only have a few moments of a student’s attention,” said Bethany Frye, executive director of the ministry. “Our strategy is to include a MWTB ‘60-Second Gospel’ tract tucked inside every single Scripture portion (Gospel of John) we hand out.” Frye said ministry volunteers aim to conduct a “peaceful, loving Gospel outreach” to students and faculty, “offering a friendly presence and a listening ear.” When students stop at the ministry table, Frye said volunteers thank them for stopping, tell them they love them, and ask to pray for them. When time allows, they ask them questions and get to know more about them. They also tell them what they will discover in the literature presented to them....
