Fear, covid, inflation, world chaos , vaccine mandates, financial problems, Russia making moves, China growing in power

Why is all this happening?

As we look at the world around us today, a lot of people are asking themselves: what in the world is going on? Why is all this happening? We have Covid and mandates, financial problems, inflation, looting and rioting, China growing in strength, Russia strong-arming Ukraine, war in the Middle East, along with fear and chaos throughout the world. Could all of this be leading up to a larger, future event?

The Bible says, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come” (II Timothy 3:1, KJV). Perilous means troublesome. We are definitely living in troublesome times. But what are the “last days” that are being spoken of here? These last days refer to the time period right before Jesus Christ will come to take away people who believe that He came to earth, was born of a virgin, crucified on a cross, died, and rose again on the third day. These people believe that He died for their sins, they have repented of their sins, and asked Jesus Christ to come into their heart and be their Lord and Savior.

But why would this happen? Why would He take people from this world? Where do they go?

John 14:1-3 says:

Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home.If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. (NLT)

After Jesus came to earth, was crucified and rose again, He went back to heaven to prepare a place for those that believe in Him.

In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 it says:

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words. (NIV)

This event is called the Rapture, and it is when Jesus will come for those who have believed in Him and believe that He died and rose again.

This will cause a great turmoil on the earth as people just disappear. It will add to the chaos in the world, and allow for one man to rise to power and rule the whole world. He will promise peace and safety. Everyone will jump at this opportunity, because they will be tired of the chaos in the world.

You may ask: what does all of this have to do with what’s going on now? Just as things are being mandated now, the Bible describes one person—the Antichrist—who will rise to power and issue a mandate as well. This is found in Revelation 13:16-18:

It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666. (NIV)

This “Mark of the Beast” will be a requirement for those living in this time. The mandates we see now are nothing, compared to what will take place when these events unfold.

You may say, “So what? I’ll take the mark. I’ll be glad when the Christians are gone—no one will be around to tell me what I’m doing wrong.” Or you may say, “Well, I’ll wait and see if this really happens, then maybe I’ll accept Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior.”

After the Rapture occurs, seven years of torment and destruction will follow, as God will judge mankind for their wickedness. Revelation 8:7 says:

The first angel blew his trumpet, and hail and fire mixed with blood were thrown down on the earth. One-third of the earth was set on fire, one-third of the trees were burned, and all the green grass was burned. (NLT)

Revelation 8:8-9 says:

Then the second angel blew his trumpet, and a great mountain of fire was thrown into the sea. One-third of the water in the sea became blood, 9 one-third of all things living in the sea died, and one-third of all the ships on the sea were destroyed. (NLT)

In these three verses, it says that 1/3 of the trees of the world will be burnt up, and ALL the green grass! Also, water will become blood. This is only a glimpse of what the Bible says will happen. It also tells of water becoming bitter, darkness, locusts that can sting, and much more.

You may still say, “I’ll wait. I’ll take my chances.” The problem is, if you continue to reject Christ now, once the Rapture occurs, you could end up believing a lie. 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 says:

So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. 12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth. (NLT)

The truth is in your hands at this very moment. If you reject it, and the Rapture occurs, it could be too late. Without Christ, you are facing 7 years of hell on earth, known as the Great Tribulation Period. This is when God will pour out His wrath, because of unbelief and rebellion.

You cannot earn your way to heaven; nor can belonging to any church save you. In Ephesians 2:8-9 it says:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. (NIV)

It is only by God’s grace and placing your faith in him, that you can be saved.

We are all sinners. Romans 3:23 says,“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard” (NLT). Our sin carries a penalty: death. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (NIV).

But there is hope. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (NIV). In John 3:16 it says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (ESV). There is NO OTHER NAME under heaven given to man by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

God sent his Son to earth to die on a cross to pay for our sin. So, when Jesus died on that cross, and shed His blood, He paid the penalty for our sins, so we don’t have to. To be forgiven, all you must do is call upon His name and accept what He did on the cross for you. Romans 10:9-10 says:

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. (ESV)

You can say a simple prayer like this right now, asking Jesus to forgive you for your sins, saving you from the wrath of God and eternal damnation: “Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, but I know that you died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. Please forgive me for my sins, and come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
