You were born for a purpose. You were created for a reason.

Life may not seem pleasant or good. Situations and circumstances may not be tolerable. Family and friends may not understand your depression, frustration, pain and why you want to end it all.

But listen, friend, suicide is not an option! Nor is it an escape route!!

Did you realize there is life after death? Some go into eternal bliss and some to eternal condemnation. Whatever the destination is, we chose it from this side of eternity-—during this life. God has given each and every one of us power to make choices while on this side. “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8).

I present to you One who is interested in your failures, setbacks and pain. One who has already walked this walk before. One who knows what thirst is and how pain feels. He thirsted and cried for a drink on the Cross but was given vinegar (John 19:28). He wept when His friend Lazarus died (John 11:35). He felt forsaken when He saw death coming and He was praying yet His friends were sleeping (Matthew 26:40). He has surely been through it all. His name is Jesus Christ. The One and true friend any person could ever have. Perhaps you have heard of Him before or maybe you have never heard about Him. Here is an opportunity as He sends an invitation to you: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

He did not promise life was going to be rosy: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

Will you accept His invitation and let Him run the show? Would you give Him a chance? Suicidal ideas and thoughts are not the solution. Self-harm and self-injury are plans from the enemy, the devil, to frustrate your destiny. Will you let go and let God have His way? Jesus loved you before you were born; His love is eternal and non-judgmental. He proved this love when He died for your sins on the cross, and then rose again so He can give you a new life.

If you are ready to receive forgiveness and cleansing, now is the time to talk with God. Express your heart’s desire to Him—you might use words such as these:

“Dear Jesus, I come to the Cross this moment, filled with my filth and dirt. I pray for Your mercy and that You wash me clean with Your blood that You shed at Calvary. Please restore me to faithful obedience to Your word. It’s a lonely world. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit and walk with me, hold my hands and keep me focused on You that I may keep Your commands. Write my name in the Book of Life. In Jesus name, Amen”

The way to eternal, abundant life is so simple that so many miss this blessing. Follow up with a Bible-believing church where you will further be nurtured.

May grace and peace be multiplied unto you. Shalom! Be the Best in Christ!
