From the New Testament “…good news of great joy”

God so loved the world (you and me) that he gave (Jesus) his one and only son, (to suffer and die in our place, and be raised from the dead) so that whoever believes in him shall not be destroyed (for their sins) but instead, will have everlasting life in Heaven.

The commandments, “Do not commit adultery, do not commit murder, do not steal; do not desire what belongs to someone else”—all these, and others besides, are summed up in the one command, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” If you love others, you will never do them wrong; to love, then, is to obey the whole Law. Sin is the breaking of the law.

However, as the Scriptures say: There is no one who is righteous. Everyone has sinned and is far away from God’s saving presence. No one is put right in God’s sight by just trying to do what the Law requires; what the Law does is to make us know that we have sinned.

But God has shown us how much he loves us—it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us! God puts people right with himself through their faith in Jesus Christ.

By Jesus’ blood, shed for us, we are put right with God; how much more, then, will we be saved by him from all of God’s anger and righteous retribution. The wage sin pays is death; the lake of fire is the second death, but God’s gift is eternal life given by Christ Jesus our Lord.

By the kindness and love of God, he saves us. It is not because of any good deeds we have done, but because of his mercy that he saves us, through the Holy Spirit, who gives us new birth and new life by washing us. By God’s undeserved favor you are saved through faith. Faith is choosing to trust. And, Jesus is completely trustworthy.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved.

As the scripture says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

All who believe in him will have their sins forgiven through the power of his name.

To mark you as his child, (without any physical feelings, but received by faith), God sends the Spirit of his Son into your heart, the Spirit who cries out, “Father, my Father.” So then, you are no longer a slave but a child. And since you are his child, God will give you all that he has for his children.

Jesus said, Listen! I am standing at the door (to your heart) and I am constantly knocking, If you open the door, I will come in (by my Spirit).

The Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control.

Listen! This is the hour to receive God’s favor; today is the day to be saved! Change your mind and believe the good news. Ask Jesus to come into your life and save you.

Read the New Testament in the Bible. Begin with John’s Gospel, then Romans. Find a good church to attend.
