Jesus said, “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved.” John 10:9, ESV
Jesus is God’s Son. God sent His Son to save us.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16, ESV).
Why was God’s Son sent? Because humankind sinned.
“For all have sinned” (Romans 3:23, ESV).
Every sinner needs to be saved (this is salvation). Jesus is the only One who saves.
“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation]” (Acts 4:12, AMP).
Those who are saved will go to heaven to be with God forever.
Jesus said:
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life” (John 5:24, ESV).
Those who die without being saved will go to hell—because of sin and unbelief. Hell is a place of continual torment.
“Then these [unbelieving people] will go away into eternal (unending) punishment, but those who are righteous and in right standing with God [will go, by His remarkable grace] into eternal (unending) life” (Matthew 25:46, AMP).
Jesus died on a cross to pay our debt of sin. God raised Him from the dead.
“He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross” (1 Peter 2:24, NLT).
“God raised Jesus from the dead” (Acts 2:32, NLT).
By confessing the Lord Jesus, and believing in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9, NKJV).
Here is one way to declare your belief in Jesus:
“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge, You died on a cross. God raised You from the dead. I’ve sinned. Save me. Be my Lord and Savior. Amen.”
If you have confessed your belief in Jesus Christ, “Congratulations!”
You are a child of God.
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12, ESV).
Here are next steps you can take:
1. Begin to talk to God.
2. Find a Bible-based, Christian church to visit.
3. Begin to read the Holy Bible.
God loves you. Live for Him. You’ll never be the same again, for the better.
“To Him who alone does great wonders, for His faithfulness is everlasting” (Psalm 136:4, NASB).
Bless you.
