It was 1942 in Jersey
when Bob Dill came to be.
Joan was two years older.
A very smart girl was she!!
All eyes were on the “groundhog”
with hopes of spring in mind.
Marge Dill was having labor pains
and thoughts of a different kind!
When I was only in kindergarten
my life almost ended suddenly.
Both electricity and water together,
came real close to killing me!!
“Emmy” was a real special grandmother.
We were extremely close it’s true!
Her life ended with a sudden car crash.
I felt like my life ended too!
Dad had a temper that was scary.
We spoke very seldom I‘d say!
My mom was a wonderful person.
She had a loving and generous way!
With my car came new popularity.
I had friends as never before.
But life was starting to crumble,
Big trouble was there at my door.
I was down the shore quite often and
left school for the Navy eventually.
I was so self-centered and selfish.
This was a very dark time for me!
It was Norfolk after boot-camp.
Trouble still was my best friend.
When would I ever be happy?
How would my wasted life end?
One night I met a very special girl.
Our love has only grown thru the years
Mary Ann is still right by my side!
Over 50 years of laughter and tears.
We were blest with a healthy boy.
I was amazed and thankful you see!!
Had God forgotten my sinful ways??
Jim’s birth had an big impact on me.
One night depressed while home alone
I casually turned on the TV.
As Billy Graham spoke from the Bible
GOD spoke directly to me!!
As the choir sang “Just as I am”
Many went forward to pray.
In my heart I went forward also.
I received GOD’S forgiveness that day!!
I asked THE LORD to change my life
and promised to turn from my sin.
No bells and sirens were sounding,
but big changes were about to begin!!
At work there was dear Emily
An angel of the highest degree!
She was so thrilled and delighted
to share from the Bible with me.
Mary Ann witnessed changes in my life.
She listened to what God had to say.
Her Bible was opened as well as her heart.
Oh that was one glorious day!!
Our son started with Sunday School.
He often read the Bible at night.
The Lord kept working in his life.
Soon JESUS became his delight!!
Do BELIEVERS still have problems?
Yes some days may seem so very gray.
The difference is––we now have JESUS and
He’s always just a short prayer away!!
Would I claim to be the perfect Christian?
I’m afraid this can’t be true!
I do claim to have a perfect SAVIOR!!
His arms are wide open for you!
This Loving LORD extends the offer.
Time is short, so don’t delay!!
You will never regret your decision.
Why not bow your head and receive Him today??
A Suggested Prayer: Father, thank You for the free gift of eternal life. I know I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose triumphantly from the grave. I open the door of my heart and invite You in. Please make me the person You want me to be. I will live for You from this day forth. In Your precious name I pray, Amen.
