Step 1: REALIZE and ADMIT that you are a sinner.

Even if you died within the next few seconds, you would be on your way to heaven, because you are now a citizen of heaven. Now you possess God’s peace as you continue to look to Jesus your new Lord, the Author and Finisher of your new faith. If you don’t die now, nothing more is required of you but you should now feel the need to ask questions and learn more about your new direction in life. Therefore, ask the person who gave you this tract or call the number given on the back so you can find a good Bible-believing church where you can learn from God’s word and associate with fellow believers.

You are now starting your ride to our eternal paradise and God’s dwelling place, heaven. You are on the way to live in the mansion he has prepared for you. You will be traveling in the company of believers from all of the ages. Your earthly life will be changed and the uncertainties you know will begin to disappear. The Christian road will have twists, turns and bumps on the way, but you will know what lies at the end because God’s Word, the Bible, gives you the answer and will be your guide.

If you haven’t yet decided to put your trust in Jesus Christ, let me remind you that your hopes, fears and curiosity have drawn you read this and you have been prompted by a higher power, for as Jesus says: “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him” (John 6:44).

Here are some key verses which tell us about our need of salvation and how we receive it.

• “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” –Romans 3:23

• “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” –Romans 10:9

• “The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” –Romans 6:23

• “Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?” –Romans 6:1,2

• “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” –John 3:16

• “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” –Ephesians 2:8,9

No matter how many good deeds you have done or how much money you’ve given to good causes, SALVATION is NOT EARNED but GIVEN only by FAITH IN CHRIST.

The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible is considered by many to be the most accurate translation of the original texts, but the English Standard version (ESV) uses more modern language so all verses quoted in this tract are taken from the English Standard Version for easier reading by the non/new believer. I suggest that as you grow in faith, you study the King James Version, as other translations may stray from the original meaning of many words and passages.
