For as long as I can remember I’ve always been successful; maybe not always number one, but always happy with my accomplishments. Good grades, good friends, sports, extracurricular activities … I enjoyed school. I’ve got the career, home, car, wonderful relationship. My life seems—well, perfect!
So why am I having trouble sleeping?1 Why do I feel disconnected from the joy I should be experiencing? What is this feeling of anxiousness and worry?2 Why this deep loneliness? I just don’t understand.
God Understands! He hears your cry. He feels your hurt. He sees your struggle, the pain behind the smile, the questions behind the mask. He understands because He created you.3 He loves you! He knows you.4
What do you know about Him? A favorite verse your grandparent quoted to you? A scripture lesson once shared with you from a teacher? A family member praying for you? A “John 3:16” sign at a sporting event? A stranger telling you “God loves you”?
That deep inner emptiness that remains in you can only be filled by the saving grace5 of God through His Son the Christ. He gave to you the most precious gift, salvation:6 being rescued from a life and eternity spent apart from Him! God sent His only Son to the world—to you—so that you could be saved.7 He sent His Word (the Holy Bible) to you so that you would have His instructions.8 He sends His Spirit to you so that you can have His conviction,9 and His Love in your heart so that you could have His encouragement and peace.10
These all come to you as a gift—not something to work for11 or a goal to achieve, nor an item to purchase. Jesus Christ already paid the debt.12 Since God cannot allow sin in His presence—and everyone is imperfect13 and has committed sin—God sent Jesus as the redeemer for you.14 He lived a perfect life and took upon Himself your sins and wrongdoings when He died on the cross. He then victoriously arose from the grave—He is alive today!15 His sacrifice for you gives the deliverance you’ve been seeking16 and brings the peace you’ve been secretly longing for.17
Your search for completion could end right now.18 Won’t you please accept His gift?19 Come to Him in faith, turning away from the wrongs in your life and asking for His forgiveness. Acknowledge Jesus’ authority as God’s Holy Son who died for you and rose again. Trust Him completely for your salvation.
Follow His example of baptism and share His love with others.20 May this moment be the beginning of a new life in Christ—choosing the way of Truth!21
