Have you ever walked or driven down a dark tunnel?
As you get toward the end, you start to see a light. The darkness fades away as you come out of the tunnel, and the light shines brightly.
Does your life feel this way—like you’re constantly walking in the darkness down a dark tunnel? Do you need light in your life? Do you want eternal life in heaven?
“Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life’” (John 8:12).
Jesus came into a dark world to overcome it and save guilty sinners like me and you. Jesus came from heaven and became a man by taking on flesh, died on a cross to pay the penalty for your sins as your substitute, and then three days later He rose from the dead, having conquered all evil and darkness. There is only one way—one narrow, bright tunnel that leads to heaven—but there are many dark tunnels that lead to hell.
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:6).
Do you want to know God?
Are you sorry for your sins and rebellion towards Him? Godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation and eternal life in heaven. Are you being drawn by God to come to His Son? Is your heart soft enough to pray a prayer like this?
“Father God, I want to stop my current lifestyle and turn to You. I need help. I’m sorry for my sins towards You. I believe Jesus is Your one and only Son who came to die for me and all my sins. I believe in my heart that he rose from the dead and is alive. Today, I receive Him and confess with my mouth that He is my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with Your Spirit and make me a new creation in Jesus Christ. I put all my trust in Jesus from here on out. Let Your light shine on me. Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul.”
Do you see something?
Yes, that’s light pouring out upon you, illuminating the darkness in that lonely tunnel. I pray that now you will follow the path along the narrow tunnel of light that leads to salvation. I pray that today you are born again with a new heart and a sudden thirst for righteousness that keeps you walking down the narrow bright tunnel with only one stop left—heaven.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
