IF YOU WERE TO DIE TODAY, WOULD YOU BE 100% SURE THAT YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN?

The Bible tells us that everyone has an inevitable appointment with death. While we may not know the exact time of this appointment, it is a certainty that no one can escape. Hebrews 9:27 states, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” The truth is, death has never missed an appointment. The statistics on death are undeniable—10 out of 10 people will die. Just as death is an appointment we cannot avoid, so too is the judgment that follows. My dear friend, before that day arrives, there are a few very important things you need to know in order to prepare for that divine appointment.

THE BIBLE SAYS WE ARE ALL SINNERS.

Romans 3:10 – “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”

Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

Ecclesiastes 7:20 – “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.”

Romans 5:12 – “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”

THE BIBLE DEFINES SIN AS THE FOLLOWING.

  1. “The transgression of the law” – 1 John 3:4.
  2. “The thought of foolishness is sin” – Proverbs 24:9.
  3. “To him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin” – James 4:17.
  4. “All unrighteousness is sin” – 1 John 5:17.
  5. “Whatsoever is not of faith is sin” – Romans 14:23.

DID YOU KNOW THERE IS A PENALTY FOR SIN?

That’s right. In the same way that a judge demands punishment for crime, God demands punishment for sin. The Bible tells us here in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death.”

In other words, our sin carries a heavy penalty—and that penalty is death. However, it’s important to understand this verse isn’t just talking about physical death. The Bible also warns about a second death, which is everlasting punishment in what the Bible calls the lake of fire.

It says here in Revelation 21:8 – “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Matthew 25:46 says, “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

The truth is, God doesn’t want anyone to go to Hell. However, because God is perfectly holy and just, He can’t turn a blind eye to our sin because doing so would compromise His perfect holiness and justice. And so, this creates a dilemma. How can God justify and redeem wicked sinful man, so that he no longer has to go to Hell, while yet at the same time continue to uphold His perfect holiness and justice?

The answer is found in Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

THE GOOD NEWS: JESUS CHRIST PAID FOR YOUR SINS.

Jesus Christ, who is God manifest in the flesh, came into this world 2,000 years ago. He lived a perfect, sinless life for 33 and a half years. During the last three and a half years of His life, He had a public ministry where He performed many miracles, signs, and wonders, proving His deity. He was eventually arrested on false charges, tried, and accused of several things—none of which were true. Despite His innocence, He was unjustly sentenced, beaten, and crucified on a cross, where He took the full punishment for your sins and my sins upon Himself, suffering in our place as our substitute. He died on the cross, was buried, but on the third day, He rose again from the dead, conquering sin, death, and the grave.

DO YOU KNOW WHY JESUS HAD TO GO THROUGH ALL THAT BLOODY MESS ON THE CROSS?

The Bible says in Romans 5:9 – “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

The reason Jesus went through all that suffering and bloodshed on the cross is because—without His perfect blood atonement, there could be no justification or reconciliation with God. The Bible says, “Without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22). In other words, because Jesus paid the penalty for our sins in full and met the righteous demands of the law, God’s justice toward our sin was satisfied. As a result, God now offers forgiveness and salvation—not as something to be earned, but as a free gift received by faith.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Eternal life is exactly that—a gift. You don’t earn a gift. It’s not something you work for or achieve by your own efforts.

Ephesians 2:8–9 puts it plainly: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Salvation isn’t about going to church or doing good works. It’s not about being baptized, or repenting of sins. Those are all good things in and of themselves—but none of those things can save you. The Bible is clear: it’s “not of works.”

Romans 11:6 – “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.”

ACCEPTING THIS FREE GIFT IS AS SIMPLE AS ABC.

I have placed these verses here as a reminder that God has declared we are all sinners and, without Him and His grace, we are all on our way to Hell.

A. Admit to God that you are a sinner on your way to hell.

Romans 3:10 – “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”

Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

Romans 5:12 – “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”

Revelation 21:8 – “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

B. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins on the cross, shedding His blood; that He was buried in the tomb, and rose again the third day. The Bible says salvation is through faith in His blood (Romans 3:25). The fact of the matter is, it’s personal—He did that for you.

1 Corinthians 15:1–4 says: “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

C. Call upon the name of the Lord. Ask Him to save you.

Romans 10:8-10 says: “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Romans 10:13 says: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Whosoever means you.

YOU MUST MAKE A DECISION - THERE IS NO WAY TO BE NEUTRAL.

My dear friend, you have a decision to make. The truth is, the claims of Christianity stand or fall on the person of Jesus Christ. In other words, if Jesus Christ truly was who He claimed to be—God manifest in the flesh—and if He truly died for the sins of the world and rose from the dead on the third day (and the evidence strongly supports that He did), then ultimately, that means everything He ever said about Heaven, and everything He ever said about Hell, is true.

Jesus Christ said of Himself, “I am the way, the truth, and the life(John 14:6). Jesus didn’t say He was one of many ways—He said, “I am the way.” He didn’t just claim to have truth—He said, “I am the truth.” And He didn’t claim to just have life—He said, “I am the life.” He declared, “No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” Not Muhammad, not Buddha, not Confucius, not Mother Mary, not Joseph Smith, not the Pope, or anyone else—Jesus made it clear: “No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”

Now ask yourself—are those the kinds of statements any ordinary religious leader should make, especially if He were merely a good teacher and not God manifest in the flesh? The truth is, there is no middle ground here. There is no room for neutrality. He either was who He claimed to be, or He wasn’t. It’s that simple.

And if He was who He said He was, then case closed: Christianity is true.

Only those who choose to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in His perfect blood atonement as the payment for their sin, will enter Heaven. All others remain under the wrath of God and are headed for eternal hellfire.

John 3:36 – “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

HELL WAS NOT MADE FOR YOU. THE BIBLE SAYS HELL WAS MADE FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS.

Matthew 25:41 – “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”

IT’S NOT GOD’S WILL THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH.

2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise ... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

1 Timothy 2:4 – “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

But if you reject Him, there is nowhere else for you to go. God has offered you the free gift of salvation, but if you turn it down, there remains only judgment. Don’t wait—make your choice today!

TOMORROW COULD BE TO LATE!!!

James 4:14 – “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

2 Corinthians 6:2 – “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

Right now, if you’ve never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and you would like to, simply go to God in prayer. If you’re not sure how to pray, you might pray something like this:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I ask You to forgive me for my sins, and in the best way I know how, I’m asking You to save me. I believe that Jesus Christ was my substitute, that He died on the cross for my sins, that He was buried, and that He rose again on the third day. Lord, I place my faith solely in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and His finished work on the cross. I receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Thank You Lord for saving me, for forgiving me of my sins, and for the free gift of eternal life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

NOTE: It’s important to understand that these are not some magical words you repeat to get to Heaven. They are simply an example of what you can pray to God if you truly believe in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross and desire to be saved.

If you have made the decision to trust Jesus Christ for your salvation, Congratulations! That was the most important decision you could ever make. Because of that decision, you no longer have to worry about going to Hell—your eternal destiny is secure. You can rest on this promise: “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). But don’t stop there—pass this tract to someone else—a friend, family member, a co-worker, anyone—so they too can know what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for them.
