Don’t let your hard-hearted “stick in the mud” become your “stone in a cemetery”

Jesus is offering you forgiveness of sin, peace, hope, love, and joy—the perfect life God intends for us to live.

But why is the world so broken? The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin has brought God’s curse upon the world, and is on display in the evil we see around us and in the news.

On a personal level, sin separates each of us from God, and because of it, we deserve death and judgment. But there’s good news—Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross, and offers us new life!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Are you a stick in the mud?

Are you set in your ways, refusing to change? When presented with truths, do you say things like “no thanks, I’m good.”

As we get older, we have a hard time admitting we need to change. Our pride gets in the way.

But please hear what the Bible has to say: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your heart” (Hebrews 3:7-8).

Examine and soften your heart

It’s time to lay down the tough guy image. Surrender your life to Jesus, and experience the new life you’ve always been looking for.

“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

To receive this new life in Jesus, simply talk to God. You can say something like this:

“Heavenly father, please forgive all my sins. Jesus, I know you died on the cross and rose from the dead. I invite you into my life to be my Lord and my Savior. In Jesus name, amen.”
