I’m here to meet with You, Lord—
To read my Bible and pray.
Open my heart to receive
All that You want to say.
As I seek just now to focus
Upon each verse—each phrase,
Open my eyes to see clearly;
Reveal to me Your ways.
I need Your Holy Spirit
To guide me as I learn.
Open my mind to understand—
So Your Word I’ll rightly discern.
As I take time to meditate
On truth You’d have me obey,
Open my ears to listen
As You remind me through the day.
And when we close our meeting, Lord,
May I keep this purpose in view:
To reflect more of Your love to others,
And to walk ever closer with You!
Karen S.
