Having been a pilot most of his life and a flight instructor who taught his boys to fly, Dad finally hung up his wings and decided to give me the beautiful plane.

His extraordinary gift, which I definitely could not afford on my own, has enabled me to experience the joy of flying often. His only request was that I share the joy of flight with as many people as possible and send him a picture of each passenger who gets to see God’s breathtaking world from up in that Aeronca Champ.

Reviewing with Dad nearly every flight over the past few years has enriched my love of flying and has given him many opportunities to share valuable insights. These treasured experiences I often get to share with my son, who is now a pilot.

As I reflect on the blessings I’m still receiving from Dad’s gift, I see many similarities between it and the much greater gift my heavenly Father has given me – eternal life!

As a sinner (Romans 3:23), I could not pay for my salvation (Romans 6:23). Because God loves me, He sent Jesus to die for my sins (Romans 8:28), and upon receiving the gift (Romans 10:13), I have new life in Jesus. I am not perfect, just forgiven and blessed. I now enjoy learning from my heavenly Father through His Word, the Bible, and I get to talk with Him often in prayer. He has also asked me to share the joy of this gift with as many people as possible, which is why I share this with you.

If you have ever flown in a small plane, you know how fun and satisfying it can be, but please don’t miss the ultimate joy of knowing Jesus! Please accept God’s gift of Christ today if you have never done so.
