Let it Ride.

In gambling, it is to take your original bet with winnings and risk it all. Most commonly, the phrase means choosing to ignore a situation as if it will go away.

Do you know the greatest risk people are willing to take by choosing to ignore it? Their eternal destination. Can you believe they would “LET IT RIDE”? What about you?

You can be sure of this, God will not ‘let it ride’! “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account” (Hebrews 4:13).

“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement” (Hebrews 9:27).

Are you willing to risk your eternal destination with the idea that you think you’re a pretty good person or have done some religious works or rituals so that you can merit heaven? That’s a bet with a 100% chance of losing! You need to be reconciled to God!

“There is none righteous, no, not one; … there is none who seeks after God …There is none who does good, no, not one … there is no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:10-18).

Are you choosing to ignore your day of death and judgment, as if it will go away, and just “let it ride”? Your problem is sin! Sin has separated you from God and placed you under His just judgment and eventual condemnation in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15).

God knows your thought life, He hears what you say, He sees what you do! Someone calculated that if you were to sin just 5 times a day in word, thought and deed (lying, lusting, pride, hate, sexual immorality, drunkenness, filthy language, etc.) and you died at age 70, you would have committed 127,000 sins against the Lord. All punishable by death and damnation!

But there is Good News.

God is rich in mercy and incredibly kind. In love, He sent His Son Jesus Christ, who never sinned (God clothed Himself in human flesh), and willingly took the punishment for your sin on the cross. He died, was buried, and three days later rose victoriously over sin, death and hell.

God offers you forgiveness of sin, new life in Christ, a reconciled relationship with Him and one day a new home in heaven, all because of the perfect sacrifice of Christ for you.

What will you do with this Good News? Let it ride, or receive the priceless gift of everlasting life?

“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, …longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” Romans 2:4

“…for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’” Romans 10:12-13
