You can choose from going to Tangier and sampling the Buried Beef, going to Bridgeton and seeing the mill and traversing their Covered Bridge, or circling the square in Rockville finding something to make you smile. However, one choice in life isn’t as easy as deciding where to go next.

It’s the most important choice in your life, deciding where you will spend Eternity! If you ignore this question you have already made up your mind. You will die and go to hell. You may say, What have I done to deserve that? God gave us His Law in the Ten Commandments. They include:

Thou shalt not covet, Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not kill, and Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.

See, God tells us in His Word, the Bible:

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Romans 3:10-12

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 3:23; 6:23

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 5:8; 10:9-10

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:11-13

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Romans 5:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Romans 8:38-39; Hebrews 10:25

This is the Greatest Bridge, the way of Salvation provided by the Lord Jesus when He died on the cross. If you will repent of your sin and trust the Lord’s sacrifice as sufficient alone to forgive you, then you can be saved! Make sure you cross it today before it’s too late!

The Bridge Builder

by Will Allen Dromgoole

An old man going a lone highway,
Came at the evening, cold and gray,
To a chasm vast and deep and wide
Through which was flowing a sullen tide;
The old man crossed in the twilight dim.
The sullen stream held no fears for him;
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.

“Old man,” said a fellow pilgrim near,
“You are wasting strength with building here,
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again will pass this way,
You have crossed the chasm deep and wide,
Why build you this bridge at the eventide?”

The builder lifted his old gray head,
“Good friend, in the path I have come,” he said,
“There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me,
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be;
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim,
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him.”
