In the Garden of Eden

Before sin first began—

What joy and what bliss

When God walked with man.

All things were perfect!

Beauty—unsurpassed!

Man, close to God—

But this joy did not last.

When Satan came tempting,

It was him they obeyed.

Their sin against God

Brought death and decay.

Now walks in the Garden

With God were no more.

For sin came between them—

Could closeness be restored?

Sin must be punished,

And we all commit sin.

We don’t merit God’s love,

Or to be close to Him.

Yet God’s love is amazing!

It’s boundless! It’s strong!

He had a plan to redeem us

In spite of our wrong.

His own precious Son

Came to die in our place.

What incredible love!

What mercy! What grace!

He has power to forgive,

Since He rose from the grave.

If you repent and trust Him,

Your soul He will save!

Will you now place your faith

In Jesus’ death on the cross,

So your closeness with God

Won’t forever be lost?

For to be close to God,

And live forever in heaven,

Your sin must be dealt with—

It must be forgiven.

THE RESULT OF FAITH IN JESUS

John 1:12 “But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”

Colossians 1:14 “In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

Romans 5:9 “Since, therefore, we have now been justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by Him from the wrath of God.”

Romans 5:1 “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”

Conclusion:

Psalm 145:18 “The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.”

Ephesians 5:1-2 “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us…”
