BAD NEWS
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
As we itemize these sins made by people who will not inherit the kingdom of God, we find that all of us have committed some or all of these transgressions against God. The Bible says “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Oh how helpless it seems. That is indeed Bad News. What a terrible price to pay—to miss heaven. It is as if you are standing before a judge as he passes the death sentence on the deeds you have done. You can throw yourself on the mercy of that judge, but your sentence will not be changed. It will be Death, no matter how sorry you are for your crime or sins.
GOOD NEWS
Now, how about some Good News?
There’s a Judge we can go to who is a Gracious and Merciful Judge. “Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful” (Psalm 116:5).
The Lord Jesus will be that Judge. “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom” (2 Timothy 4:1).
Christ Jesus has taken your sentence upon Him: “Christ died for our sins” (1 Corinthians 15:3). Jesus came to save sinners! (1 Timothy 1:15). That was God’s plan! That plan is called the Gospel–the Good News!

Confess, Repent, Believe and Follow. Jesus is waiting.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17).
