3 Crosses
The cross on the left—a terrible sinner was given the death sentence for his crimes and sin. He mocked Jesus. He cursed Jesus. He refused to see who Jesus really was . He never accepted the free gift of salvation offered by the Savior who was crucified in the center next to him, and today he is in torment, absent from Jesus, and will endure judgment in Hell for eternity.
“For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23, to be continued below).
The cross on the right—a terrible sinner was given the death sentence for his crimes and sin. He accepted the free gift of salvation offered by the Savior who was crucified in the center next to him, and today he is in Heaven in the presence of Jesus and all the saints. He realized that Jesus was the only way for forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life.
Continued: “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”
(Romans 6:23).
The cross in the center—a sinless man named Jesus was crucified. His only crime was that He came to save those who were lost, not to condemn them. He was the Son of God, the Savior.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17).
Jesus was crucified on the cross and was placed in a borrowed tomb, but death could not hold Him so He arose from the grave and He lives today. His tomb is empty. The stone was rolled away so the world could see that He defeated sin, the grave, and death! He is the only way to the Father! He is the only way to Heaven! He is the only way to have eternal life! And He is coming back for His children. Are you ready for that day? Are you one of His children?
2 Choices
While both of these criminals were dying the same way and even in the presence of Jesus, their individual reactions to the moment were completely different … and each had a choice!
We have the same choices. Which will you make?
Choice 1—We can choose not to accept the free gift of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life that we are offered freely because of the sacrifice Jesus made that day on the cross…
— or —
Choice 2—We can choose to accept the free gift of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life that we are offered freely because of the sacrifice Jesus made that day on the cross. It only takes a moment!
Either choice will end with an eternal destination, Heaven or Hell. Choose wisely.
1 Moment
The 1 Moment—Now is the moment (just like the moment the criminal on the cross had) to make the choice to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior! In this 1 moment, when you repent, you will be forgiven of your sins (past, present, and future) and you will be assured of a home in Heaven in the presence of God. Don’t let another moment pass without accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior!
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
If you want to accept the free gift of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life that Jesus offers, just talk to God! You can say something like this,
“Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that you died for my sins, and that you rose from the dead to give me new life. I turn from my sins, and place my trust in you alone for salvation. Amen.”
