Candy Corn Facts: Candy corn was first called chicken feed. It was invented over 130 years ago. 9 billion pieces are made every year. That's enough to circle the earth about 5 times!

Known for its orange, yellow, and white stripes, candy corn is a sweet treat! Did you know that these three colors can also help us learn about God and how much He loves us? Let’s take a look!

ORANGE: The color orange reminds us of a big pumpkin. Have you ever helped turn a pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern? The pumpkin looks good on the outside, but when you look inside there is a lot of slimy, yucky, orange goo that needs to be cleaned out! Just like a pumpkin, we have yucky stuff hidden inside our hearts. God’s word, the Bible, calls it sin: “Cleanse me from my sin … create in me a clean heart” (Psalm 51:2,10).

Even one “small” sin is a big deal because the bad things we think and do make God really sad. Unless our sin is washed away, it will keep us away from God. But the good news is that He can get rid of all our sin! How? Let’s look at the next color.

YELLOW: This color makes us think of warm sunshine and bright light. In the Bible, we read that God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to earth as “the light of the world” (John 8:12).

What did Jesus do? He came to take away our sin. Jesus took the punishment for our sin when He died on a cross. After three days, Jesus came back to life! Jesus proved He is more powerful than sin. When we put our trust in Him, God gives us a clean heart that shines His light. To discover what else He promises us, let’s look at the last color.

WHITE: The color white reminds us of clouds and Heaven, where Jesus is alive right now! He promises that all who trust in Him will one day live in Heaven, too. What do we need to do to be ready?

Just like a piece of candy corn can point up, we can look up and talk to God. He hears us, no matter where we are or what words we use.

Talking to God is as easy as A, B, C

Ask God to take away your sin and give you a clean heart.

Believe Jesus died on the cross and rose again to give you new life.

Choose to follow Jesus and walk in His light.

“God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son [Jesus], that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
