"Help! Is there anyone who can help me?"

"Sure, we'll help you. Just let go and we'll catch you in our net."

"Is there anyone else who can help me?"

"Okay! Okay! Have it your way. Don't way we didn't offer to help."

Struggle...Grunt... "Just see how far you can get by yourself!"

Grrrr!!! ... "Still there, pal?"

"Okay! Okay! I believe you can save me. In fact, I believe you are the ONLY ones who can save me."

"Now are you satisfied?"

"Well, it's a good start. Now let go!"

"Let go?"

"Yes, you said you believed we could save you. So show us. Let go!"

"Isn't just saying the words enough?

"Are you safe yet?"

"Well, not exactly!"

"Then you'd better let go!"

"That's easy for you to say! You're not hanging from this branch."

"No, but we do know this net is strong enough to catch you. Just let go!"

"Gulp! Let go?"

"That's right. It's the only way."

"But I can't even see you!"

"We know! That's why you need a little faith."

"But I have doubts!"

"That's okay. The net is still just as strong even if you have doubts about it. We can still catch you. Just let go."

"It's that simple?"

"Yep!"

"Well, okay, here goes."

You know, our life here on Earth is a lot like the man on the branch.

"Hoooo-aa-uugghh!"

Our situation is hopeless and helpless. Our efforts will never be enough to save us from the penalty for our sin—death!

"Yikes! Death?"

"For the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23

And our relationship with God is much like that this man's relationship with the net holders.

God says that when we put our faith in Jesus, He will save us for all eternity.

"Save us?"

They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—You and Your household." Acts 16:31

You see, Jesus Christ, God's perfect Son, died in our place to pay the penalty for us. Then He rose again after three days to prove His power over death.

"He died for me?"

"That if you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, You will be saved." Romans 10:9

"I believe You, Jesus!"

Now God ways that if we let go of our own efforts to save ourselves and trust in Jesus' sacrifice for us, He will forgive use and give us eternal life.

"I'm saved!"

"See? We told you!"

"It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8

"Now how about you?"
