America … the land of liberty!
What a wonderful thing it is to live in a free country. Is it not? Take for example the word “tolerance”—which means accepting people, without always accepting their ideas. That’s one of the many things that makes America great. It’s ok to agree to disagree agreeably with one another and still treat each other with dignity and respect.
So with that in mind, let me ask you a question: “Are you free from the fear of death?” If you answered “yes” or “no” or “I don’t care” … please consider the following: Biblical Christianity radically claims to free humanity from the fear of death. How so?
Man’s greatest problem is sin: “for the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23). Sin resides deep within our hearts and separates us from God who is holy. The Bible says, “out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness” (Mark 7:21-22). We are as wretched and filthy as God Almighty has declared you and I to be … my heart and your heart are very dirty and we know it!
But in God’s great mercy, He will forgive the REPENTANT sinner because of the sinless Son of God’s sacrifice on our behalf. The Bible says that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. You see, Jesus the Messiah died in our place on the cross to settle the issue of sin once and for all. He then physically rose from the grave on the third day, conquering death and hell so that you and I can be cleansed and be given new life in Him.
You will be free from the fear of death when you humble yourself in the sight of the Lord by turning from your sin and putting your trust in Jesus Christ alone for the salvation of your soul. You will indeed experience true FREEDOM!
