Fear, covid, inflation, world chaos, vaccine mandates, financial problems, Russia making moves, China growing in power

Why is all this happening?

As we look at the world around us today, a lot of people are asking themselves: what in the world is going on? Why is all this happening? We have Covid and mandates, financial problems, inflation, looting and rioting, China growing in strength, Russia saber rattling, and just fear and chaos throughout the world. Is this all setting the stage for an event to happen, and if so, what is it?

The Bible says, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come” (II Timothy 3:1). Perilous means troublesome. We are definitely living in troublesome times. But what are the “last days” that are being spoken of here? These last days refer to the time period right before Jesus Christ will come to take away people who believe that He came to earth, was born of a virgin, crucified on a cross, died, and rose again the third day. These people believe that He died for their sins, they have repented of their sins, and asked Jesus Christ to come into their heart and be their Lord and Savior.

But why would this happen? Why would He take people from this world? Where do they go?

John 14:1-3 says:

Let not you heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

After Jesus came to earth, was crucified and rose again, He went back to heaven to prepare a place for those that believe on Him.

In I Thessalonians 4:13-18 it says:

But I would not have you to be ignorant brethren, concerning them which are asleep, (dead) that ye sorrow not, even as others that have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

This event is called the rapture; it is when Jesus will come for those who have believed in Him and believe that He died and rose again.

This will cause a great turmoil on the earth as people just disappear. It will add to the chaos in the world, and allow for one man to rise to power and rule the whole world. He will promise peace and safety. Everyone will jump at this opportunity, because they will be tired of the chaos in the world.

You may ask: what does all of this have to do with what’s going on now? Just as things are being mandated now, the Bible describes one person—the Antichrist—who will rise to power and issue a mandate as well. This is found in Revelation 13:16-18:

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, of the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

This “Mark of the Beast” will be a requirement for those living in this time. The mandates going on now are just a small image of how extreme the time will be when these events unfold.

You may say, “So what? I’ll take the mark. I’ll be glad when the Christians are gone—no one will be around to tell me what I’m doing wrong.” Or you may say, “Well, I’ll wait and see if this really happens, then maybe I’ll accept Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior.”

After the rapture occurs, seven years of torment and destruction will follow, as God will judge mankind for their wickedness. Revelation 8:7 says:

“The first angel sounded and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.”

Revelation 8:8-9 says

And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And a third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

In these three verses, it says that 1/3 of the trees of the world will be burnt up and ALL the green grass!! Also, water will become blood. This is only a short view of what the Bible says will happen. It also tells of water becoming bitter, darkness, locusts that can sting, and much more.

You may say still, “I’ll wait, I’ll take my chances.” The problem is once the rapture happens your chance may be gone. If you reject Christ and the rapture happens, after that you will believe a lie. II Thessalonians 2:11-12 says:

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

You have the truth right here in your hand, and if you reject it and the rapture occurs, then it will be too late for you to accept Christ.

Let me make it known to you that no church can save you and you cannot earn your way to heaven. In Ephesians 2:8-9 it says:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

You cannot earn your way to heaven; nor can belonging to a church save you. It is only by God’s grace and placing your faith in him, that you can be saved.

We are all sinners. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” We all have sinned, and that sin carries a penalty: death. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

But there is hope. Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” In John 3:16 it says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

God sent his Son to earth to die on a cross to pay for our sin. When He died on the cross and shed His blood, He paid the penalty for our sins. To be forgiven, all you must do is call upon His name and accept what He did on the cross for you. Romans 10:9-10 says:

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Why not accept the free gift of salvation today? You can pray a simple prayer like this, asking Jesus to forgive you of your sin and save you: “Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, but I know that you died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sin. Please forgive me of my sin and come into my heart as my Lord and Saviour. In Jesus' name. Amen."
