Have you tried to attract God’s attention but to no avail? Have you been praying and you have not received answers to your prayers? Do you frequently run to Pastors, brothers or sisters for prayers because you think God cannot hear you? Do you have a need right now that you want the LORD to fill? Are you sick, demonically afflicted, barren, jobless? Do you want to be free from the sin that easily besets you? Are you thirsty and hungry for God’s righteousness through Jesus Christ? Then, this message is for you. I want you to know that THERE IS NO PROBLEM GOD CANNOT SOLVE. I want you to know and believe that GOD STILL ANWSERS PRAYERS. “For with God nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37; see also Matthew 19:26; Jeremiah 32:27; Psalm 65:1-5; Hebrews 13:8).

I want you to know that everything starts and ends with prayer: obtaining mercy, salvation, sanctification, righteousness, gifts of the Spirit, miracle, healing, being born again or dedicating and consecrating your life to Jesus Christ, being free from demonic oppression, preaching, understanding the word of God, overcoming temptations and other things you want to achieve in life (Matthew 7:7). “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10).

“Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me” (Psalm 50:15). Our master Jesus, who is the way, the truth and the life tells us in Matthew 26:40-41, “What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.” If you think that he is only talking to Peter, James and John, you are mistaken. We all need to spend quality time, privately with the Lord in our closets (Matthew 6:6). Yes, you are able to find God in your closets. Jesus himself prayed fervently “And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God” (Luke 6:12, see also Luke 9:18). He even knelt down and prayed (Luke 22:39-42).

You need sometimes to shut the world behind you in other to receive from the Lord. If you apply these principles, heaven will open up for you. Our Lord tells us that when problems overwhelm us, we should fast and pray (Mark 9:29). One of the reasons Heaven opened up for Cornelius is that he loved to pray. He also applied God’s principle of giving to the poor (Acts 10:1-48). Daniel was a man who humbled himself and prayed to God always in fasting and supplication. Heaven opened for him (Daniel 2:17-19; 6:10; 9:1-22). The prophetess Anna was able to identify the baby Jesus as the messiah because she spent her time in fasting and supplication to the Lord (Luke 2:36-38). The Bible says Elijah was a man like us, but he prayed that there would be no rain for three years and six months and it happened (James 6:17-18). You, too, can receive from the Lord, if you will apply his principle.

Set up a day or days of prayer; shut the world behind you, turn off your cell phone, computer, radio and be with the Lord in fasting and prayer. If you have health issues that hinder you from abstaining from water and food, then eat light food and pray through the hour of prayer. Every hour is meant for prayer, but there are hours of prayer mentioned in the Bible: 3, 6, 9, and 12 am or pm (Acts 10:9-11, 30-31; Matthew 27:45-46). “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour” (Acts 3:1). “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.” (Acts 16:25,26).

When you are in trouble, or having issues, do not ask God, “Why me,” as many people do. Praise him, pray to him, and ask for his mercy and intervention. Wake up in the morning and begin by 6. Sing praises to God, and then, confess your sins and ask him to forgive you and cleanse you with the blood of Jesus. If you think you have not sinned, you still have to approach him on the basis of his mercy. “Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults” (Psalm 19:12-14). Tell the Lord from your heart that you have forgiven all human beings against whom you were having malice, grudges, hatred, and unforgivingness (Matthew 6:14-15). If you are not sure that you have forgiven them, ask the Lord to take away the evil spirit of unforgivingness from you. Ask him to give you grace and power to worship him in spirit, truth, righteousness, and holiness all the days of your life. Ask him to sanctify and make your heart pure. Ask him to fill you with the Holy Ghost. Then present your need to him.

After doing all these, open the Bible and read any chapter that comes to your mind. When you finish reading, you can sleep or continue reading more chapters of the word of God. Follow the same process the moment it is 9am, 12noon, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, 12midnight, 3am and round up at 6am, depending on the number of days you have set apart for prayer. Remember, without faith it is impossible to please God. You must have faith and do not go about telling people what you intend to do: the enemy may use them to hinder you. If you will follow these guidelines, be ready for open heavens. All prayers must be made in the name of Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

May God protect you, hear, and answer your prayers. May he open the heavens for you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

* * *

You may have been praying and behaving wrongly and that is why you are not getting answers. “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (James 4:2-3).

When you pray according to the word of God, you will get answers to your prayers. Heaven will surely open for you. Why? God does not lie: “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began” (Titus 1:2; see also Isaiah 55:6-13; Numbers 23:19; Matthew 24:35; Psalm 138:2). “That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie” (Hebrews 6:18).

The truth is, the word of God cannot return to him void. God’s word is very important to him. “For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name” (Psalm 138:2). God gave us his word for the simple reason that we study it prayerfully, diligently, and apply it in our daily lives. “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come” (1 Corinthians 10:11; see also 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

“Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead” (Romans 4:23-24). God is able to do for us, what he did to the people in the Bible days, if we approach him according to his principles. His principles are in his word.
