Did you know that there really is an Incredible Peace available to you right now—in the middle of the craziness that surrounds you on every side?

There will never be peace on earth; the peace that Jesus talks about in the Bible is peace with Him, not peace with the world. John 14:27 records these words of Jesus:

“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful.” (CSB)

This peace is available to all who choose to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. To have this relationship with Jesus, however, you must understand these key truths:

• JESUS IS OUR SAVIOR

• HEAVEN AND HELL ARE REAL

In the paragraphs that follow, I’ll unpack these truths with a bit more detail.

First, God created the earth and all humanity. He created each one of us with a free will—the freedom to choose Him and live as we were designed to live OR to choose our own way, rejecting God’s way. He offered His only Son, Jesus, to die on a cross to pay for our sins. For all who accept this gift of Jesus, God gives eternal life in heaven; all who reject this gift will spend eternity in hell. God made the offer and we make the choice.

Second, heaven is a real place where there is no more pain, no more sin—everyone is perfect and truly happy. Heaven is more beautiful than our minds can imagine and it is an eternal reward for accepting God’s Son.

Third, hell is also real. It’s God’s judgment on those who rejected His gift of Jesus for their salvation. That’s because God offered each person in hell the ability to accept the gift of His Son and they rejected it. It will be the most regretted decision anyone will ever make and one they will experience every second of forever. If you died right now, would you experience this eternal regret?

Fourth, the choice is yours—to choose Jesus
and have eternal life or reject Him and experience eternal death.

John 3:16 says, “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”

God is a loving God; He truly loves you so much that He gave His Son as a sacrifice for your sins. By giving you this information, I’m pleading with you to not be a person who rejects this wonderful and gracious gift. Be the person who accepts Jesus as your Savior so you, too, can experience heaven after your physical life is over.

Not only is this salvation for eternity, but it is for your life now. Having Jesus as your Savior means you have Him walking by your side through the rest of your life. It means you have access to Him through prayer; as you speak with Him, He will give you peace, direction, and joy like you’ve never known before. With Jesus, you will experience His peace even in the middle of the craziness of the world around you. That’s not to say you will not experience difficulty, but it means that God will walk with you and give you wisdom and comfort as you go through these trials.

In summary, entrance to heaven is granted to those who have accepted the gift of Jesus and entrance to hell is the cost of rejecting this gracious gift. Likewise, the one who accepts Jesus enjoys this earthly life at a deeper level because it’s lived with God’s help.

It’s your choice.

This decision is the most important decision you will ever make. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, so I pray that if you haven’t chosen Jesus as your Savior, you will make that choice right now.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your Savior, simply tell Jesus that you know you are a sinner and that you’re sorry for the sins you’ve committed—that you’re turning from your life of sin and you are choosing to accept His sacrifice on the cross as payment for your sins, and that you want to live for Him forever. This is not just a matter of saying these words, but of meaning them with all your heart, making an honest and complete decision to follow Jesus.
