That phrase was actually a title for a rap song sung in the 1990’s by the late Tupac Shakur who was brutally gunned down in Las Vegas, NV in 1996. Today, this phrase is heard and seen from celebrity statements to tattoos to music tunes.
Would you agree that only God can judge you?
The Bible says that He will judge us. “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13).
The Bible also says that God has already judged us. Here is the verdict: GUILTY and CONDEMNED.
“There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God…. There is none who does good, no, not one…. There is no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:10-12,18).
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived”
(1 Corinthians 6:9).
Here is where most people make an eternal mistake. They read this scripture and think this can’t pertain to them. After all, they consider themselves to be a good person.
But next to the perfectly holy God of the universe, all of us (even the best of us) are filthy and unrighteous. If you have ever lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain, looked at a person with lust, or have hatred in your heart, God will judge you as a liar, thief, blasphemer, adulterer, and murderer.
However, there is Good News
God is rich in mercy and because of His great love for sinners He sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world to save us from our sin. Jesus lived a sinless life, and therefore could offer Himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for us.
When Jesus went to the cross, He died in our place absorbing the wrath of God for the penalty of our sin. He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. This is proof that justice has been served; God is satisfied.
“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10).
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Jesus Christ alone can remove the judgment of God and give us a NO CONDEMNATION standing. Through Christ, we can receive forgiveness of sins and reconciliation to God. This is God’s desire for you.
“There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION to those who are IN Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
Will you respond to God’s gracious offer of salvation? Call upon the Lord to save you, acknowledge your sin, turn from it, and place your faith in Christ alone as your Lord and Savior.
“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
