GOD’s LOVE AND MERCY

Are you in a situation where you think that God has given up on you?

Are you currently at the point where you think that you have done so bad that you don’t qualify to receive the love and mercy of God?

The truth is that God’s love and mercy go far beyond your sin or what you have done. The Apostle Paul said, “Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 1:13-14).

It’s not about what you have done, but about what God wants to give you.

“For God so loved the world [me and you] that He gave His one and only Son [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

The Word of God says that righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. For we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. However, when we turn to Him, we will be justified by the grace of God through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus (Romans 3:22-24).

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

This same love and mercy that made God send His only son to die for me and you is available and waiting to cleanse you from your sin and make you a new person (2 Corinthians 5:17).

DO YOU HAVE A PART TO PLAY?

YES, we all have a major part to play.

We must make the decision to walk away from sin and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Savior.

Salvation is free and is not imposed on anyone.

Because of His great love for us, God has given us the choice to either come to Him and enjoy the blessing of eternal life, or continue in our sin and suffer eternal death in hell fire (Deuteronomy 30:19).

As Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

DO YOU HAVE TO COME WITH ANYTHING?

Yes, we must all come with a heart that is ready for true repentance.

“A broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise” (Psalm 51:17b).

Jesus is calling you to come to Him; He will accept you just as you are.

Sin is a heavy burden that God wants to take away from you and give you rest (Matthew 11:28-29).

But this rest is only available to people who accept His offer of salvation. In Christ we have the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:14).

“For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them” (2 Corinthians 5:19, NLT).

JESUS THE ONLY WAY

All of these great promises are possible only through Jesus Christ. “For there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

If you desire to come to Jesus, talk to Him using words like these:

“Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of your help. I believe that You gave Your life as a sacrifice on the cross for my sin. I ask that You come into my life and make me a new person. I promise to serve You forever as my Lord and Savior. Amen.”

“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10, NKJV).
