“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”Galatians 6:7

I personally spent half of my life being deceived about who Jesus was and how I would be able to enter into eternal life.

1. What does it mean to be deceived?

Answer: To be deceived means to be led astray on the wrong path, to be misled, while all along you think you are going in the right direction. You are literally walking on a path blindfolded, unknowingly walking right towards a cliff.

2. Who is the great deceiver and liar, the enemy of all humans?

Answer: The devil, the spiritual enemy of Creator God and all of His creation. The devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeing whom he can devour (1 Peter 5:8). His goal is to lead people away from their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. SO STAY ALERT!

3. What is the danger of being deceived about who Jesus is?

Answer: The danger of being deceived is that you would end up being totally separated from Jesus for all eternity. Separation from the Creator God, Jesus, after we die results in eternal darkness and torment in hell. Hell was originally created for the devil and demons and is the only alternative to not being in paradise with King Jesus (Matthew 25:41).

4. How was I personally deceived and on my way to hell, separated from King Jesus?

Answer:

• I believed that since I had been sprinkled with water as a baby in baptism, I had a ticket to heaven no matter what.

• I believed that I was a good person and the good things that I did would ensure my place in heaven.

• I believed I could live how I wanted to in disobedience to my Lord and God, essentially being my own god, and still be allowed to enter into the Lord’s Heavenly Kingdom.

• I believed that when I died, I would just move into the Lord Jesus’ mansions. Even though I didn’t truly know Him or have a relationship with Him, or even really care if Jesus was there. Basically, I just wanted to have everything of His for all eternity without any commitment to Him.

5. Would you want to spend eternity with someone who didn’t care you were there, but yet they still wanted to live in your paradise, enjoying all the awesome things you created?

Answer: The Lord Jesus would not want to live in paradise forever with someone who didn’t truly want to be with Him either.

6. Have you ever been deceived? Why do you believe what you say you believe about Jesus?

What’s your Answer?

Is it because you just believe what you have always been told, or is it simply just what your family or friends have always believed for generations?

Maybe you aren’t deceived because you have done your homework and studied out your beliefs in the Bible to make sure that they are true, so you can avoid being cast into hell when you die?

Or, are you just content to not put in the effort to check your beliefs out and thus, believe what you have always been told or simply dreamed up as your own truth. In this sense you have become your own god, headed for eternal damnation.

7. How can I avoid being deceived so I can have eternal life with King Jesus?

Answer: First, repent and believe what the Bible says about Jesus, that He is the Lord, the only True God, the Creator of all things, and the Savior of all who will trust in Him and cry out to Him to save them. Repentance is changing your allegiance from false gods, idols, self and money—or anything that has taken the place of Jesus in your life—and giving your total allegiance to the Lord Jesus.

Next, confess to Jesus that you haven’t been loyal to Him as your Creator and Lord. Cry out to Him to have mercy on you, to forgive you, and save you from eternal hell and separation from Him. Tell Jesus that you believe He is the only true God and Savior, who gave His life on the cross for you. Ask Him to wash you clean, open your eyes, and spiritually transform you, and give you a new heart and spirit. He will do it (Mark 10:46-52).

DON’T BE DECEIVED, YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR ALL ETERNITY!
