Notice the sweat drops coming off the head ... the oval eyes pleading for mercy ... the clenched teeth showing tension ... the finger in the collar to relieve some of the body heat.

In the cartoon world, it's easy to recognize guilt.

There is the "turmoil guilt," most commonly characterized by hands clasped on either side of the head ... wild hair showing emotions out of ... bug-eyes showing terror of being caught, ... and open mouth poised for imminent scream.

Also there's the "surprised guilt" characterized by the flushed face of embarrassment ... adrenaline rush marks emanating from the head, ... deer-in-the-headlights looks in the eyes, ... and the slack-jawed, open-mouthed expression of embarrassment.

Finally, there is the "cool guilt," characterized by the cocky bedroom eyes that belie the turmoil underneath ... the non-confrontive sideways body posture with stooped shoulders, ... and the defensive hand posture that says, "I want to hide."

It's too bad we can't see sweat drops coming off of real people to see who's really guilty and who's not.

"I see those sweat drops! You're guilty!

"Rats!"

If we could, then we would find out that the whole world is full of guilt!

"Sweat drops! What sweat drops?"

"Those aren't my sweat drops!"

"Blasted sweat drops!"

"I was in the shower! That's water, I tell you!"

"Why me?"

Because the Bible says ...

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

"Not me!"

Oh yeah? The Bible also says ...

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." 1 John 1:8

"Okay, maybe I have sinned once."

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." James 2:10

"But what about all of the good I've done?"

"They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." Romans 3:12

"Is there no hope?"

Yes there is!

In spite of your sinful condition, God still loves you and wants to have a loving relationship with you.

"He does?"

But your sins stand in the way.

"There are those sweat drops again."

But the good news is God paid for your sin with His Son's (Jesus') death on the cross.

Then He rose from the grave to give you eternal life.

Now you don't have to feel guilty any more.

"I don't?"

When you place your trust in Christ as payment for your sin, you can enjoy a loving relationship with God guilt-free forever.

"Yippee! No more sweat drops!"

"Dear Lord Jesus, I turn from my sin and place my trust in you now to be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for dying for me and freeing me from the guilt of my sin and giving me eternal life."
