"God? Is he performing somewhere tonight?"

It's amazing how most people have some sense for who God is.

When major storms hit, you hear people refer to ... "An act of God."

When someone sneezes you hear people say ...

"God bless you."

"Uh ... thanks!"

Many are convinced that in every situation God is truly on their side.

"Oh God, help me make this tackle."

"Oh God, help me make this touchdown."

Some people see the beauty of His creation and think that is God."

"Oh, great and glorious tree!"

Others see the beauty of their reflection and think they are God.

"Oh, great an glorious me!"

It used to be people thought they saw God in the stars."

"Oh, great and glorious Zeus!"

Today, people think they see God in the stars.

"Oh, great and glorious ... whoever you are. Just give me your autograph!

"With all these impressions of God, can anyone know who God really is?"

Yes! The Bible says ...

"Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13

Are you searching for God with all your heart?

"Yeah, sure! That is, I think so ..."

"... I mean, most of the time."

"Well, I will one these days ... I think."

What holds you back from seeking God with all your heart?

"Um ... well, um ... what holds me back? I guess I'm afraid that if I really discover who God really is ..."

"... I might have to make some changes in my life."

Why is that?

"I guess I realize that God is perfect and I am not. I fall pretty far short compared to Him."

This is true. The Bible says ...

"... For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

"Oh, thanks a lot."

But the good news is, God loves us anyway. He showed us love by sending His Son, Jesus, to earth to die for our sins. By rising from the grave He conquered death so we could live forever in Heaven with Him.

"Hmmm ..."

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" 1 Peter 3:18

"Great! I want to be able to come to God."

All it takes is placing your trust in Christ to save you.

"Trust?"

Jesus said, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." John 14:1

"Dear God, I want to know you with my whole heart. I now turn from my sin and place my total trust in Jesus. Come into my heart and save me for all eternity. Amen.
