Do you sometimes feel like there's a catch to everything?

"Look, dear, we won! We won!"

"... a free sales pitch."

"Yes sir, folks, right over there will be our exclusive marina as soon as we get our exclusive lake built."

Even the telephone is not immune to a good scam."

"Hello, sir, you can win an exciting prize valued at $500 if you tell me in which hand the Statue of Liberty is holding her torch."

"Duh ... left?"

"Oh, I'm sorry. However, because this is our special bonus week, I'm allowed to give you one more guess."

"Duh ... left?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, but because you are a preferred customer, we can let you have one more try."

"Tell her left again."

Of course magazines are full of supposed great offers.

And so is your mailbox.

Even your "friends" may have opportunities that are supposedly too good to pass up.

"I'm tellin' ya, a year from now I'm gonna be a millionaire."

"It's a great opportunity!"

"Come over here and listen to this tape I have."

"Here we go again."

In fact, it doesn't take too long to learn that if something sounds too good to be true, you're probably right.

"Yeah?"

... except for one thing.

"Ha! I know there was an angle to this pamphlet."

"Okay, what's your pitch?"

"A free giveaway?"

"A discount coupon?"

Eternal life!

"Oh brother, religion! That's the worst!"

"So, what's the catch?"

"Do I have to join some church and give money?"

Nope! Just receive it! It's free!

"Receive it? Free?"

Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself for your sins, and then He came back to life to prove His power over death. He died for you so that He can offer Heaven and eternal life — free!

"That's great! I don't think I could earn my way to Heaven if I had to."

Exactly! The Bible says ...

"There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins." (Ecclesiastes 7:20)

"So how do I receive this free eternal life?"

Simply confess your sin and your inability to save yourself ...

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

... and place your total trust in Jesus Christ as the one who paid the penalty for your sin.

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." (John 3:36)

"Lord Jesus, I confess that I have done many wrong things. I confess my sin and place my trust in You to be my Savior. Thank you for eternal life."
