"Is that you, Lord? Say, I'm sorry I didn't donate to that orphanage last week but I ..."

"Hold it!"

"I know your excuses before you even give them. That's not why I'm calling you."

"Well, what can I do for you? I mean I know there's a lot I can do for you, more than I'm doing now, of course, but ..."

"Will you calm down?"

"Yes, sir."

"I want your heart."

"Yes, sir! My heart, sir, coming right up."

"My heart?"

"That's right."

"You've been running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to earn your way to Heaven."

"I have?"

"Don't you know My word says that your 'righteous acts are like filthy rags'?" (Isa 64:6)

"It does?"

"I don't want you to perform for Me. I just want your heart."

"But ... but ..."

"Don't you know that My greatest commandment is to, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength"? (Mark 12:30)

"But ... but ..."

"Sigh! ... but your sins stand in the way of you doint that, don't they?"

"What sins?"

"Shall I refresh your memory?"

"No! No! That's okay! I've sinned! I've sinned!"

"It's just that when I sin I don't feel worthy to give you my heart."

"I know! I know!"

"That's why I sent My Son to die for your sins, so you can know I don't condemn you."

"Yes, I've heard of Him, Jesus Christ!"

"He rose from the dead, didn't He?"

"Yes, and now if you will trust Him as your Savior, you will be free form sin and can give Me your heart."

"But I don't know if I can do that!"

"It's the only way!"

"But ... but ..."

"Let's not be stubborn now."

"... but put yourself in my shoes!"

"I'm trying to but you won't let Me!"

"Hmmmm..."

So, what about you? Is God calling you? ... but do your sins stand in the way?

"Hmmm..."

"But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear." (Isaiah 59:2)

However, God would like to hear from you!

"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." (Jer 33:3)

And you can freely come to God when you realize that Christ died for your sins.

"Hmmm..."

"For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." (1 Pet 3:18)

But it doesn't begin until you repent of your sins and receive Jesus as your personal Savior.

"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12)

What's your choice? Are you ready to give your heart to God?

"I'm yours Lord."
