All countries in the world have a process for entrance into their country. To obtain a visa (an authorization to enter the country), a payment must be collected and an application must be made.

To enter the kingdom of God, there are similar requirements.

The Payment Has Been Made

God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price by dying on the cross of Calvary for the remission of our sins.

John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

No matter how “religious” we are, no one can enter God’s kingdom until the price of their sins has been paid. This is a price we could not pay, so God sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins.

Because Jesus paid the price when He died on the cross and rose again from the dead, the road to heaven is free for all who will receive Him. Why go through tribulation, pain, and torment when our Father in heaven is saying the door of salvation is open to you? The blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross of calvary is ready to save and deliver to the uttermost.

How to Apply

Do you want to apply for entrance to God’s kingdom? Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15).

“Repent” means to recognize your sinful ways and have a change of heart that leads you away from your sin and toward God.

“Believe the gospel” is to accept that Jesus died for you on the cross, and to put your complete trust in Jesus to provide you entrance into God’s kingdom.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

The visa to the Kingdom of God is not just a temporary visa. Rather, it makes you a heavenly citizen, and with this citizenship come many heavenly benefits.

Salvation: We receive deliverance from sin and its consequences through the death and resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ.

Peace: Jesus says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). In Jesus there is peace that supersedes all understanding. We can rest our souls in Him.

Eternal Life: “I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:28). God’s kingdom never ends, and all who enter it will enjoy eternal blessings with God.

Ready to apply? “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9). If you have turned to God in repentance, placing your trust in Jesus Christ, you are now a child of God—welcome to the family!
