These six questions could change your life. Answer these questions True or False, based on what you believe.
Question 1
I believe I will die someday.
True or False?
Silly question, right? Well, maybe not. Let’s take a look. If you chose to answer True, keep going.
Question 2
I believe I have a soul that will live on after I die.
True or False?
Another serious question. Everyone has thought about this from time to time. If you chose True, continue. If you chose False, you may not be ready for this quiz just yet.
Question 3
I believe that after I die, my soul will spend eternity in either heaven or hell.
True or False?
In order to answer this one as True, you must first believe that heaven and hell are real.
Question 4
I hope that the way I am living will earn my acceptance into heaven.
True or False?
If you chose True, you are thinking like a large number of people, and you will be happy to know that God has some good news for you!
Question 5
I wish there was a way that I could be 100 percent sure that, when I die, I will be saved from hell, and spend eternity in heaven.
True or False?
Whether you answered True or False, God’s good news is for you! There is a way that you can be 100 percent sure of your salvation. The good news is found in the Bible, God’s holy word.
Let’s take a look:
First of all, why don’t we all just go to heaven automatically? What is the problem?
Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
James 2:10 “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
So, we are all unrighteous sinners, separated from God because of sin and deserving of death and hell. Because of our sin, there is nothing we can do to earn salvation. But, God has a free gift for us through Jesus.
What is God’s Gift?
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:17 “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:”
Acts 16:31 “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,”
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Because God loves you, he sent his own Son, Jesus Christ, to be the final sacrifice. Jesus died a horrible death in your place and then rose from the dead to be your savior. He is the only way to be with God.
Do you believe?
John 3:3 “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
God promised that if you believe on his Son, and call upon him to save you, he will not turn you away. Salvation is his gift to you!
Nothing we try to do on our own can ever make us right before God. We can’t earn our salvation by going to church, helping others, following church rules or doctrines, trying to live a clean life—nothing!
Now, the most important question—what about you?
Question 6
I understand and believe what God said about his free gift of salvation. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross as a sacrifice for me. I believe that Jesus was raised from the dead to overcome death. I believe that only by putting my trust in Christ as my savior can I have everlasting life. I want to be saved and know that I will spend eternity in heaven.
True or False?
If you can honestly answer True to this question, then the only thing left to do is to turn to God in repentance, putting your entire trust in Jesus Christ to save you from your sin and give you new life. Here is a simple prayer to help you put your beliefs into words and to ask God to save you:
“Lord, I know that I have sinned and deserve to spend eternity in hell. I know that there is nothing I can do to earn salvation on my own. I do believe that Jesus died for me and paid the price of my sin. Father, please forgive me, save me, and come into my heart. From this day forward, I will give up trying to earn it on my own. I am trusting only Jesus for my salvation. Amen.”
Your faith and trust have led you to new spiritual birth. Not because you said this prayer, but because you believed it!
1 John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
God said that you can KNOW it. He wants you to be sure of your salvation.
What next?
Here are a few suggestions to help you grow in your Christian faith:
- Read and study your Bible each day. The word of God will be a blessing to you.
- Pray every day, praising God and giving thanks, and asking him to guide your life.
- Tell someone how and why you know that you are sure of eternity in heaven—you can even share this quiz.
- Find a Bible-believing church and attend regularly. You will grow more fully if you are around other believers.
