Are you relying on doctors and medicine to heal your physical needs? What about emotional needs? Do you feel like there isn’t a cure for your problem? I am here to say that there is a cure for everything, and this cure can be found through Jesus Christ, the Great Physician!

So, let’s take a look at Jesus Christ. When He came to this earth, He served others, healed the sick, and performed many miracles. Although He did all these great things and showed His love to us, He was rejected. He committed no sin, but He was still crucified on Calvary’s cross. We didn’t take His life: instead, He gave us His life and allowed us to nail Him to that old, rugged cross.

He hung there and was suffering in shame and sorrow, because the sins of us all were upon Him. He poured out His blood to cover all our sins, so that He could pay off our sin debt in full. He died, was buried, and rose on the third day just as He said He would. He conquered death, so that we could be with Him forever in Heaven.

In the Bible, it says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Since we have all fallen short, we all need a Saviour. By dying on the cross, Jesus provided the gift of salvation for all that believe. “For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). The gift of salvation is free, and once you accept it, you can spend eternity with Jesus Christ.

Salvation is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me, so I want you to experience it as well! To receive God’s gift of salvation, you need to admit that you are sinner. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Then, you need to believe on Jesus Christ and trust that He has paid for your salvation. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Once you admit you have sinned and have believed on Jesus, it is time to confess that Jesus is the Lord of your life. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9).

After learning about Jesus Christ and His gift of salvation, you are probably wondering: “I know He can forgive my sins, but how is He going to take care of my physical and emotional needs?” God is always there when you need someone to talk to, and He always has the best plan for our lives. We will still go through hard times and wonder why God brought difficult situations into our lives, but God has a purpose for everything. Sometimes He performs miracles of healing and provision, and other times He holds our hand and walks us through the valley. Regardless of how He provides for us, He wants us to become stronger as Christians and lead others to Him by being an example.

I still go through hard times, but knowing that I am saved and that I get to spend the rest of my life with God, I count those struggles as blessings. God is the best doctor I know!
