Thank you for your service to me today. It was greatly appreciated. In this day and age, it’s hard to find people who have the right attitude about waiting on others.
Showing kindness and a helpful attitude has almost become a lost art. You have served me well. In this time of “Looking out for #1,” you have made an impression on me by your gracious assistance.
You have reminded me of a friend of mine. His motto was that he came not to be served, but to serve, “and give his life a ransom for many.”
In the Bible, Jesus is described as making “himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and … he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:6-8).
Through that one act of service, Jesus made it possible for all mankind to obtain eternal life and a home in heaven. His death and resurrection was the greatest act of service ever. He died for you and for me.
Now to receive the benefits of this act of service, Jesus requires just two simple things:
“If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:9,13).
If you will believe that Jesus died and rose again as an act of service for your sin, and claim it as your only hope for eternal life and heaven, you will be saved for all eternity.
Again, you have served me well. Jesus has served you in an even greater way by providing you with hope for eternity. Please accept His act of service for you.
Simply pray to God. You can say something like this statement of belief to God: “Lord, I believe that You have performed the greatest act of service ever by allowing Jesus Christ to die for my sin and rise again for me. I now confess my belief that Jesus is my only hope for heaven and eternal life. I claim the promise of God that, if I confess my sin and believe on Jesus, I shall be saved. Thank You Lord for saving me! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
