At some point in our lives most of us recognize that we need a savior. We make poor decisions, have relationship crises, and/or find ourselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. On the surface it may seem like fate is against us or we have bad luck, however, behind the scenes Satan is at war with a God who is completely in love with us. The best way for Satan to hurt God is to hurt us.
Has the enemy caused you pain? Satan studies us from birth and has studied human beings from the beginning of creation. He knows our weaknesses and uses them against us. Our only defense is dependence on God.
Does Satan cause bad things? Life’s pains and destruction are a result of sin and Satan. Sin is choosing to do wrong. Difficulties in life are our opportunities to choose right from wrong and to choose God or Satan. Just because we make mistakes doesn’t automatically mean we choose Satan, because God is a forgiving God who reads our hearts, not just our actions. We must ask God to forgive us.
How do we get the bad things to stop? Unfortunately, bad things are a part of the world we live in. However we can have peace when we recognize that no matter how out of control a situation seems, God is in perfect control. Whether we believe in Satan or not, his goal is to destroy us by any and every means necessary. The only remedy for sin and Satan is choosing God.
How can I choose God? Choosing God is the best decision we can ever make. While choosing God comes with the promise of heaven in the near future, most importantly it comes with God’s open outstretched hand right now.
Dear God
Thank you for saving me. Help me to choose you despite difficulties the enemy places in my path.
Amen
WHAT IF GOD’S ENEMY WAS MY ENEMY?
Choosing sin is choosing to be an enemy of God. God sent His son to destroy sin: Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8
Satan’s sole desire is the exact opposite of God’s design:
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10
We can overcome Satan by choosing God:
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
God made provisions for our victory:
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
Revelation 12:11
BE BLESSED!!
