The Story of Superman

Many people through the years have enjoyed the story of Superman. It all begins when Jor-El sends his son Kal-El from the planet Krypton to earth right before Krypton’s destruction. While Kal-El is living on earth, he becomes known as Superman—a man with super powers who saves humanity in tough situations. Whether it is rescuing people from a West Coast earthquake, or even snatching a stranded cat out of a tree, Superman saves the day.

Sin vs Savior

In the Bible, God does something very similar. As Romans 3:23 says, all of humanity has sinned against God and fallen short of His standards. In order to rescue his people, we read that “God has sent His only begotten Son [Jesus Christ] into the world, that we might live through Him” (1 John 4:9).

God sent His Son into the world to provide a way of salvation. In 1 Timothy 1:15, we read that: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”

The Bible also tells us that “God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:17). Whoever believes in the Son won’t perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16).

Christ was sent by His Father to Earth. He died for our sins, was buried, was raised the third day, and appeared to His twelve disciples as well as other people: “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep (1 Corinthians 15:3-6).

Will you acknowledge your lost, sinful condition and put your trust in Jesus Christ?
