Think about all of the problems that you’re facing right now. What would you say is your greatest problem? It might be work, relationships, addictions, or any number of things. But none of those things is your biggest problem. The Bible says that your biggest problem is that God is angry at you for your sin. Sin is your greatest problem. Think about this:
God created you
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him.” Genesis 1:27
God created us in His image so that we would love and worship Him.
“And he said with a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give him glory because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth.’” Revelation 14:7
We do not love and worship Him like we should—He is our only reason for existing.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
“None is righteous, no, not one.” Romans 3:10
“I know … how great are your sins.” Amos 5:12
Because of our sin, we await the wrath and judgment of God.
“God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day.” Psalm 7:11
“The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness.” Romans 1:18
“The dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:12-14
Because of our sin in this current age, it is impossible to spend life with God in the age to come.
“For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23
“It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.” Hebrews 9:27
Because we cannot undo what we have done, God made a way to secure the forgiveness of sin. He did what we couldn’t do.
“The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ came into the world to save sinners.” 1 Timothy 1:15
“There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name … by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
Jesus died on the cross for sin and rose from the grave in order to earn the right to be able to forgive sins.
“Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.” Hebrews 9:22
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God.” 1 Peter 3:18
“Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.” Romans 4:24,25
In order to take part in this forgiveness, you must let go of your sin and submit to Jesus who is the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
“Turn back, so that your sins may be blotted out.” Acts 3:19
“Everyone who believes in him receives for-
giveness of sins through his name.” Acts 10:43
You must surrender yourself to Christ even if it means that people will make fun of you.
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” Matthew 16:24
“And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:38
IF YOU DON’T SURRENDER
You will meet God on the day of judgment as a rebel against his kingdom and he will destroy you for your rebellion against him and his Son.
IF YOU DO SURRENDER
He will receive you gladly no matter how bad you’ve been. He forgives all who come to him. You will be saved from the judgment to come and you will be at peace with God here and now.
Today is set before you life and death. Choose life.
