Murphy’s Law
If anything can go wrong... it will go wrong…
...And it will go wrong at the worst possible time.
If you fiddle with something long enough…
….you’ll break it.
“Waaahhh!”
The greater your allergy toward something, the greater your chance of being exposed to it.
The line you’re in always moves the slowest
If everything seems to be going well for you, you have obviously overlooked something.
Nothing is as easy as it looks.
If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will go wrong is the one that will do the most damage.
If you try to please everybody, nobody will like it.
If you watch a T.V. series once, and then watch it again, it will be a rerun of the same episode.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch.
Or is there?
“Huh?” “Huh?”
The Bible says there is one thing that is free.
“The free gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
However, many people don’t have it simply because they haven’t received it, why haven’t they received it? Murphy’s law says…
The more you need something you’re hunting for,, the more likely it is you have thrown it away.
“Where is it?”
Man desperately needs an external relationship with God. There’s a God shaped vacuum in every man that won’t go away. Yet man throws God away as he tries to fill that void with sin.
“For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise they became fools… Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity, for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather than the creator.” (Romans 1:21-25)
So what’s the solution?
Another of Murphy’s laws says…
If you hold onto something in case you someday may need it, you will most likely never need it.
You can never be good enough by your own abilities to gain eternal life. Yet you may continue to try hold onto your life thinking you can conquer sin in your own strength. The solution is to give up your own efforts and trust Jesus (who died for your sins and rose from the grave) to save you and live through you. Only then are you capable of turning away from sin and receiving that free gift of eternal life.
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
So what is your decision? Your own way….or the way of Christ?
