The Lord Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, died for all people: all races and all nationalities.
Due to Adam and Eve (the first two people) sinning, we are born into sin, and all people have sinned. God’s punishment for sin is hell. There is a place called ‘hell’ and it’s actually mentioned in the Bible more than heaven.
However, to avoid eternal punishment in hell with Satan (the devil), as well as eternal separation from God, God came up with a plan: He sent His only Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) to earth to die for us as our substitute. He was born of a virgin and became a human being, but, unlike us, He was perfect—He never sinned. Fortunately for us, Jesus was obedient. He went along with His Father’s plan and carried it out, dying a painful death on a cross at Calvary, a hill outside the walls of Jerusalem in Israel. He took our sin and punishment upon Himself. That’s amazing love, amazing grace—that God would sacrifice His perfect Son for us, and that His Son, Jesus, was willing to take on the sins of humanity, suffer and die for us.
But, after 3 days, He was resurrected! His Father raised Him from the dead and an angel removed the tomb stone. Jesus defeated death proving that He is the Messiah, the Son of God. After His resurrection, more than 500 people saw Him over a 40-day period. After the 40 days, He ascended to heaven and into the presence of God. However, in His absence, He left the Holy Spirit with His believers and followers on earth.
By 1 believing that Jesus is the Son of God, He died for you, and He was brought back to life from the dead, 2 acknowledging that you are a sinner, and 3 accepting Jesus by faith as your Saviour, your sins are forgiven, you are redeemed in God’s sight, and you are born again spiritually into the family of God. After death, you will have eternal life in heaven with God and His Son—it’s a free gift. Furthermore, while on earth, you will receive the wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit, Who will live inside you.
God is actually three in one (the trinity): God the Father, God the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.
But, as Jesus said in John 14:6, “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus is the only way to God and heaven. In fact, even when we pray, we pray to God through Jesus; we pray in the name of Jesus, our living Saviour.
After death, the soul goes on living ... in either heaven or hell. Why not put your trust in Jesus right now and choose heaven? Receive Him as your Saviour and Lord. None of us have the guarantee of being here in the land of the living tomorrow, or even tonight.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
“He [Jesus Christ] is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31)
What a friend we have in Jesus! He’s my best friend, and He can be yours, too.
