You Are LOVED Snow Much!

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)” Ephesians 2:4-5

We are excited for an opportunity to share great news about God’s immeasurable love with you!

Have you ever stopped to think about the love of God? The concept of love has come to mean many things. It often defines how we think about relationships, whether it be between spouses, family, or close friendships. We also think of love as a strong emotion toward objects or activities, such as love for a book or playing a game.

Most of our love tends to be conditional, based upon the actions or the characteristics of the object that holds our affections. When someone hurts us or changes, it often affects our love for them. Sometimes our own personal changes cause us to have different desires, changing our love for others.

What is the Love of God?

1 John 4:8 tells us that “God is love.” God is not just capable of loving, or is at times loving. Love is at the core of His being. All of God’s actions are defined by His love.

However, no person has the right to demand anything good from God. The Bible teaches that all of us are sinners. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Every person has offended the perfect holiness of God. God is a righteous judge and because of our actions, every person has earned His holy wrath (Psalm 7:11).

Thankfully, God’s love is at the core of who He is and is not dependent on what we have earned. Romans 5:6-8 explains that while it is possible to find a hero who will lay down their life for someone else Jesus, in His perfect love, died for us when we were sinning against Him.

God’s love is so much more than our love. God’s love can be seen in sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for the sins of people who deserved God’s wrath and could never save themselves.

We can rejoice that God is one who is “longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression” (Numbers 14:18). Through the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross we can have our sins forgiven and come to have a relationship with the loving Creator of the universe!

Experiencing the Love of God

When we speak of God’s love, we are speaking of so much more than a romantic, familial, or friendship version of love. We are speaking of the holy Creator sending His Son to die on the cross so that His creation, who had sinned against Him, could be made right with Him. There is no love greater than the love of God!

The good news of God’s love for you is on display in Acts 16:31: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” If you put your faith in the loving work of Jesus Christ on the cross, your sins will be washed white as snow (Isaiah 1:18) and you will spend eternity with the loving Creator of the universe.

The Blessings of the Love of God

• Forgiveness of sins: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
• Adoption as a child: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” John 1:12
• Eternal life: “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3
• Sure hope: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
• Fulness of joy: “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11
