God Will Never Leave You

Humans are notorious for breaking promises. Whether intentional or not, we tell someone one thing and then do another. When we are the ones breaking a promise, we tend to not give it too much thought, but when someone breaks their promise to us it hurts.
However, there is One who will never break a promise. In Titus 1:2 God is described as “God, that cannot lie.” This means everything the Bible tells us about God—what He has done, is doing, and will do—is eternally true. These are some of His promises that can never be broken.
He Is Never Far
Many religions imagine a god who has created the world, but then left that creation on its own. What a sad view of God! Thankfully, God has not left the world on its own. Instead, the Bible teaches us that He is continually holding all things together. “He is before all things, and by Him all things consist” (Colossians 1:17). In fact, none of us would be alive today if God was not continually sustaining our lives. “In Him we live, and move, and have our being” (Acts 17:28).
But the Bible also tells us that all humans have fallen into sin. Our sin is not insignificant because it is an offense to the holy, perfect God. “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Everyone has earned eternal death because of their sin against God. But His love for His creation is so great that He continues to sustain us despite our sin against Him. We are allowed an opportunity to live and to come to know God before we must face Him as the Judge.
No matter who you are, where you are, or what you have done, God is always close. He is so close that He is holding you together and providing your ability to take your next breath. He cares for you and wants you to have a relationship with Him.
He Has Provided A Way
While God’s love is shown in the continual sustaining of all life, the ultimate display of His love came when He provided the way for us to be made right with Him. “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
We have all fallen into sin. The only way we can have a relationship with a perfect God is for that sin to be taken away. “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6). Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth to live life as a man, die on the cross, and rise from the dead. In doing this He secured salvation for all who would come to faith in Him.
In His love, God sent Jesus so that sinners like you and me could be made right with Him! “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). Come to Jesus and find eternal salvation!
He Will Never Leave
Not only has God provided a way to be made right with Him, but He also promises that once we are saved, He will never leave us. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand” (John 10:27-28). Once God has saved someone, they will always be His.
Confidence in an eternal salvation means the enjoyment of an eternal relationship! Once saved, the Christian has a relationship with the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. God makes this promise to those who follow Him: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10). The Christian has no reason to fear because God has promised to strengthen and uphold them throughout their life.
An eternal relationship with the God who never leaves is better than anything the world has to offer. “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have; for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5). While the world looks at other people’s possessions in jealousy, those who know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior have found an abundance of riches in Him! In His grace and mercy, He has provided eternal salvation and an eternal relationship with Him.
“He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that send Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).
