He Is Our Peace

He is the Author of peace, the Maker of peace, the Proclaimer of peace, the Bestower of peace, and the coming King of peace. Sin and Satan have raised the stormy waves of turmoil and strife in the human heart and in the world. But Jesus came! On the Sea of Galilee He showed His power to calm the storms of creation by His word: “Peace, be still!” (Mark 4:39). On Calvary, by the giving up of His own life, He “made peace through the blood of His cross” (Colossians 1:20). On the basis of this finished work to put away sin and undo the works of the devil, He now offers peace to all who will repent and receive Him as “Prince of Peace”!

The believer in Him can say with all who thus receive Him, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). In fulfillment of His promises and after His righteous judgment of this world, He will set up His kingdom of peace over all the earth, and men shall proclaim: “This Man shall be the Peace”! (Micah 5:5).
